this guy is a genius when it comes to anything related to imaging. he's responsible for most of the distinguished features of google camera app, and lately he moved to work for adobe to develop a universal camera app. my only gripe is that it's adobe, so expect their usual fucked up subscription scheme once it's released. but i bet levoy will deliver.

in case anyone is interested, here's a course on digital imaging by him:

Unironically what is left for me to buy when it comes to phones if i highly distrust both chinks and silicon valley jews

NOKIA?????????????
they also got caught in some data breach scandal a few years back
i'm in the same dilemma

sony (5 is good, both generations)
samsung :shifty:
sharp (aquos zero 2 looks decent)
some other smaller brands without support

but bottom line is that android will run on these anyway, so just get a pixel 4a and you'll never be happier with an android device

btw i'd seriously consider running sailfish if it was available and supported for my old phone. looks fancy: https://sailfishos.org/

tthere are some linux phones too if you're a true geek, like
https://puri.sm/products/librem-5/ or there's an other commercial model called pinephone or something similar
