Did you try following the next step anyway? Cos I think most phones have the USB Debugging option enabled by default. Did you try making a Goldcard?

Well no, I can't get into the phone. Though when it's unlocked I'm gonna try to root. Would I still need a goldcard or can I just use any option without the card, since it's not technically a Rogers phone?

All rebranded phones need a Goldcard. I think the guide tells you to install a Goldcard app from the Market. But you can download other tools to do this on your phone completely.

When I bought it yesterday the guy said they unlock phones for $50 but he wasn't offering to unlock mine and it's also not unlockable according to their site.

That's not true. I've read posts by many users on XDA that they've unlocked their DHD's from that website. They got their code in 45 mins. Maybe cos it's a Sunday they're taking their time.

The Telus site! I also went to a place in the mall that roots phones but they couldn't do it for me. I guess cause Telus just got it? Just need to be patient.

Can't you get a Telus SIM temporarily to use the phone for unlocking purposes?

Doesn't matter. Just use their SIM and check if you can use the phone. If you can, then just root and unlock it.

I thought Blackberries didn't have SIM cards? Don't they use some other thing for BBM?

They have SIM cards too, silly. The BBM service uses the Blackberry Internet Service. But it's not tied to the SIM card.
