middle earth???

This isn't where i parked my car :snoop:
LOTR.

For those suggesting Marchisio try his role, no thank you. His passing is too safe and standard to be our man in the middle. His defence, or his array of passing, is no where near the level of Vidal or Pogba. Our best middle 3, if we had a real LWB, would be Vidal, Pogba and Asamoah.

Asamoah is good for left defence and Ability to carry the ball along the line but cant be effective in perlo role

Not Pirlo role, LCM. Vidal or Pogba can play the Pirlo role.

Ideally we'd need a new player in CM, like Hernanes, and change the formation slightly.

If we want to maintain our current style then Xabi is a good substitute.

i dont believe marchisio have pirlo's vision of the game / other players movements and the passing skill, so im not sure if hes a good fit there, or maybe im wrong.

veratti is out of reach

de rossi would be a dream that will never come true.

so.. yea.. i agree xabi would be the ideal replacement given his attributes and experience.

or of course we can change our style of play..

I dont think xabi will be expensive.. he's 31, not young anymore.. i dont know when his contract will expire, but if marotta does his magic, maybe we can even get it for free

looks like he'll be free agent next year =)

i know where middle earth comes from, it just seemed like a strange terminology to call the central midfield

hernanes isnt good/young enough for this juventus considering his price

xabi is a good idea

however, vidal, pogba, marchisio and a good creative midfielder that doesnt runs in tevez way would also work. sadly all the good ones r currently taken

I would like to see us have a midfielder that breaks opposition lines from driving with the ball when we finally move to post-pirlo, we're pretty toothless when Pirlo gets crowded out of the middle
