He is our only player that other teams man-mark during games and that highly influences those performances IMO. We would be stupid not to extend his contract. There will be at least 3-4 teams that will jump right in to sign him.

not really, Vidal and Pogba were marked vs RM I believe, hence why Pirlo had so much space

He probably wants to renew with us, but only for 2 years locked. That's what valuable veterans do.

He'll be 35 in 6 months and defensively he is a cause of concern.

I think Marotta should carefully think about this. It's not an easy decision. It will depend a lot on who we'll manage to get for free in the offseason.

If he agreed to renew for 1 year, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

On the other hand, I'm sure that if he feels he is no longer fundamental to this team he will not stay in the second year, even with a running contract.

So yes, I'd renew for 2 years.

Great shot. Even had a good game. But I would still move on after this year. He will only hold us back the more we rely on him and the more he declines.

Time to turn the midfield over to Vidal and Pogba for good. Find a traditional DM or even another box to box guy like Radja and add creativity up front instead of in front of our defence. Would do wonders for our chances in Europe.

He's old and only going to decline more

No need to invest more money into him. The team needs to look ahead, not hold onto a depreciating commodity.

His contract is not even problem, is smart boy and he will give him another 2-3 years contract, there is no reason to move away from Italy to him, Italy is in love with Pirlo and Pirlo is in love with Italy, and the next WC will be his last international tournament so he can focus only on Juventus

Yes, I sometimes wonder what Marchisio would look like as a DM because of his "tactical smarts". How he could stop counters and always have the defence protected but also has the ability to play football going forward.
