Pirlo unveiled by Juventus

Andrea Pirlo has explained his reasoning for joining Juventus after bringing his Milan career to an end.

The Italian was officially presented to the media by his new club on Wednesday following his decision to accept a three-year deal.

“I chose Juventus because, along with Inter and Milan, it is the most important club in Italy, Europe and the world,” he noted.

“They also want to get back to winning. It has been a few years that they have been without success and my decision was based on this.

“I’m someone who likes to win and I believe this is a team with the greatest motivation to do that. This club wants to get back to its previous levels.”

The 32-year-old has signed a three-year contract with the Turin outfit whom he has always considered a force of Italian football.

“For me Juventus were the team to beat, a Scudetto rival and the games against them were always important,” he added.

“There was a desire to beat them because they were always one of the strongest sides.”

Pirlo has joined Juventus on a free transfer after opting against renewing his contract with Italian champions Milan.

“I wanted a change and Juventus allowed me this opportunity because they want to succeed. The desire to take them back to the top is massive.”

Pirlo, who added that he still hasn’t decided on his shirt number, has had an injury hit past season which reduced him to just 17 Serie A appearances.

“This is the first campaign in which I haven’t played that many games. In 10 years at Milan I made 400 appearances, averaging 50 a year,” he added.

“Let’s say it was a sabbatical year for me which has extended my career. I feel rested and now I can play for another four or five years.”

What a bunch of bullshit, just tell it like it is. He choose us cuz we were the only team stupid enough to offer him a big 3 year old contract at 32 years old.

Yes tell him that because he will say it in the next press conference, he will also apologize for hiding the fact at first.
