Cambiaso to Canale5: “We played a good game, but it's a shame that we didn't take advantage of the chances. Against #ManCity we went on the pitch in a bad way: we weren't focused like today. We are leaving the Club World Cup proud of what we did. These have been some useful days to get to know each other” #Juve

Juventus is working on renewing the contract of Andrea Cambiaso, currently ending on June 30 2029. The idea is to extend him until 2030 with an option for another year, by adjusting the salary from the current €2M plus bonus to a figure closer to €3M.

He cost us 9 points last season. Of course he will be indispensable for us as a massive bandiera. He made sure the club's wishes were met by just finishing 4th.

i agree with you fwiw

It's an odd situation where we both need to extend to keep him happy but also need him to improve and start playing better. Shades of Alex Sandro, worryingly

I feel like if the team around him improves he will too but he won't be part of what drags the level higher.

We've seen him at his best and it was great- it also happened when the team as a whole was playing great football. Imo he's a keeper but only if we have a plan to improve things starting right now. Otherwise might as well sell.

I like him but he is not irreplaceable, obviously wouldn’t want us to focus now on also needing to find a proper replacement for him but if an offer exceeding €35M arrives we should probably at least consider it, he’s actually been more of a liability than a asset for the past half a year or so, and i’m not sure if mentally he is in the right place, however there’s always the chance he’ll get back to his best with more discipline and as part of a functioning system so atm i’d rather keep him around and not create another gap that will need to be filled.
