How many fullbacks get sold for €70M though? For reference, Hakimi who was one of the best players in the league literally at Inda, was sold for less than that.

If it's anywhere near the €70M and that too for an Italian fullback, that's a pretty good deal.

Even the biggest attacking talent in Serie A for the past 2-3 years went for a similar amount.

If we are using the above two examples as a benchmark, then you can't say no to that fee. If JJ were a top 8 team in Europe, it would be a completely different story though.

I do agree with the general sentiment though that there is no trust in how we would spend that money.
It is a good price for Cambiaso definitely but what is the point? To sign more good players Koopmeiners, Luiz, and Nico?

Cambiaso is a phenomenon, which is why he could be so expensive for city. IF we had already a worthy replacement locked in it would be a different story, but I doubt it.

We need to build on players like Cambiaso and Bremer rather than sell them to build on Cabal and Gatti.

Agreed. Selling Cambiaso would lead to jabroni fiasco.

And we all know Giuntoli sucks donkey balls. After 4 transfer windows he had so far, enough is enough.

we will never refuse 65-70 mil for cambiaso.
Lets get Dorgu for 15-20 who has same profile as cambiaso, and get osimhen for 70m and we are ok :)

What's the point of this club anymore? Next season it will be Yildiz, it's over.
And JJ fans will be like "duh duh that's so much money we would be stupid not to take it"

As if they are going to see a penny of it...

while the management buy some injury prone reject as his replacement and laugh their way to the bank.

force City to include Gutierrez in a deal for 35m and sell Cambiaso for 70. If they want him so much they should be able to do it (Girona is their satelite club).
We will even improve LB position there and end up with some money to spend.

Cambiaso in City will end up like Chiesa in Liverpool. We would be insane not to accept 70 mln for him. He's not prime Zambrotta and never will be.

Such transfers would be better in the summer though, because I doubt we have someone ready to replace him.

Fuck the bonuses substantial in the sense it'll be worth at least 30 mill? Doubt it

It's January mercato it doesn't justify selling one of our biggest assets for such a price irrespective of bonuses.
No one is saying we're selling in January. And I can't see us doing that either. If we do, it's dumb af.

85 million for Cambiaso is pure madness 'tho. We wouldn't spend anything over 40 mil on someone like him without Tuz exploding.

Why is 85 for Cambiaso mad? We have strength in negotiation, Cambiaso to date has not asked to leave, he renewed his contract not too long ago, city are clearly desperate for him, he is arguably one of the best players in his position, and it's January so there is a premium for that too.

If we sell for 55 sorry but heads must roll... would barely cover costs for an adequate replacement which in itself is hard given the profile of cambiaso and that won't be cheap.
Most importantly we have other pressing matters to address, finding a replacement for cambiaso should not be made to be one of them right now.

Euhm maybe because he's far from worth it? It's either 'get the most out of every sale and stop whining about buying Koop for that mount' or accept we have to overpay too. Can't have both. It's as if you can always sell at a premium and buy at a discount.

Barely cover the costs for a replacement? Can't see Dorgu costing 50 mil, can we?

There are some rumours that we might persuade Barcelona to sell Araujo for 50 million euros from the funds available from the sale of Cambiaso.
A very risky choice at a high price. So then what do we do about fullbacks?

- - - Updated - - -

These are players that would stay here their whole career, players that we should be building our future on. I don't get it at all, I'd be pretty pissed if we sold him.
I really thought that was the plan. That was the only real positive from following Juventus this season and last. Looked like we were taking control of our own squad by making our own first team and making them loyal but no: everybody is for sale and then we replace them with people who don't give a fuck about us.

Why do you always insist on defending the clubs decision even when it's blatantly obvious its a poor one?

Dorgu is not even half the player cambiaso is in term of his profile and play which Motta is counting on. Even so Lecce won't let him go for cheap now, it'll be around 30 mill I suspect and when you weigh up selling cambiaso for 55 and buying Dorgu for 30 mid season.... its fucking terrible.

Honestly I have fuck all hope that giuntoli will replace cambiaso adequately, if anything we'll probably end up playing mckennie there full time, another terrible decision.
