I really dont know why this Daidevil dude is comparing stats of both those players when its a different discussion altogether.
We're purely speaking in terms of profile of both players as opposed to how good they actually are at this current juncture.
Pjanic is obviously better but i just feel management would be leaning towards Gomes' profile more.
Both have different qualities that has been described in the last few pages.
A week ago, Allegri said that "At Juventus we only want players of the highest quality, what matters is that they are quality players, then I will arrange for them to play in the system."

This kind of excludes the importance of the characteristics and implies that top quality will prevail, even if at first glance the top quality in question doesn't posses some of the characteristics Juve needs after Marchisio's injury.

I've never seen Gomes, but if Pjanic is the superior player, we should be going for him, even if Gomes is closer to Marchisio.

I feel like Beppe & Paratici are playing money ball when it comes to finding players or using some advanced game theory equations :D

Its not only that. Pjanic is the finished product at this point while Gomes is a work in progress, so offcourse Pjanic has better stats at the moment. The couple of times I have seen Gomes play he has been hot and cold, but the huge potential is there for all to see. Beppe has an eye for those kind of players like Dybala and Morata fx, so if he thinks Gomes is worth the huge investment I will trust him 100 %.

i'm curious, how many wc mids do we have then? 1?
Pogba and Marchisio thats it as of now.

Strootman at Roma had/has the potential to become WC but injuries stunted him.

Pjanic has the ability but he's not elite, atleast not yet.

how on earth pogba is world class but pjanic with better stats in the same league , but in a weaker team isn't?

pjanic is a xavi type of player that will help you dominate the opponent and hold ur ground against big 3 in the middle of the pitch.we have enough muscle in the mid , we need brain more than anything else and pjanic is the answer.

Perhaps he is, but year after year he's getting better, so I'm not sure if he reached his zenith yet. Considering his technical abilities, and especially his vision and intelligence, I personally expect him to have his best seasons at 28-31.
We are focusing on his stats this season, but we seem to forget that last year too he was serie A's top assistman. For two years running he's the best assistman in the league and that stat is only getting better through the years.

In the last 4 years he has these stats:
2012/13 4th best rated player in Roma; 2nd best in Roma in created chances
2013/14 Top 7 in serie A in average rating; 8th best in serie A in created chances; Roma's 2nd best rated player after Benatia; Most man of the match awards in Roma; 3rd best passer in Roma
2014/15 Top assistman in serie A with 10 assists; 6th best in serie A in creating chances; Most created chances in Roma; Roma's 2nd best passer; Most man of the match awards in Roma
2015/16 Top assistman in serie A with 12 assists; 2nd best in serie A in creating chances (Hamsik created the most); top 5 in average rating in serie A; Roma's best rated player; Roma's best passer

His development is obvious. Getting better every year, to the point that he's in the elite in the last 2 seasons.

There's no question Pjanic would rape Serie A with us as if he had twice Zach's girth.

But in the CL I think speed and strength are more important than domestically. Quick transitions are really important and we usually have to counter-attack in the later stages of the competition. This is Gomes' biggest strength.

Take a look at this video and tell me that Valencia set up is not common for us in the CL. Gomes is a CM that can burst out of the parked bus and beat a CB after running the full pitch. If we had him instead of Khedira vs. Bayern I think we would have progressed with the spaces that were begging to be exploited.

let's get both if possible that's what i'd like.
I think we need more the cms than the strikers.
We already have 3 good strikers we just need a 4th one as filler.

Juventus won't pay more than 35m for Gomes. The only chance are bonuses (hard to reach)
Let's hope for the best.

If our mercato is Pjanic,Gomes,Vrsaljko,Lapadula and Mirante i would be jubilant! rather invest in midfield than spending for Berardi.

Selling Hernanes,Pereyra,Asamoah,Neto,Morata,Caceres

There is no doubt in my mind Gomes would fit us well since we identified him as a target, Marotta and Paratici know how to find a player. The issue is, hes too expensive and their president would rather keep him than sell for less to us than United would offer. We will see if we can make this happen but i doubt it.
