I don't think it's so much Ancelotti being an idiot, rather than Wenger being a good coach and spotting Henry's potential. Henry's first season as a striker at Arsenal wasn't anything remarkable, but his progress within 2 years of coming to Arsenal has been amazing. Credit Wenger for doing such a fine job with what was such a raw talent.

Milan Coach Carlo Ancelotti has admitted he made a mistake by selling Thierry Henry to Arsenal when he was Juventus boss. Henry only spent six months in Turin, making little impact in his time there, before going on to become an Arsenal legend. “Arsene Wenger turned him into one of the world's best strikers,” said Ancelotti. “The only error I made was not to see him immediately as a striker. I think about that sometimes now, of course. I only had three months coaching Henry. I saw he had talent but he was playing as a wide midfielder. Personally, I wouldn't have let him go if it had been down to me alone.”

Let us bring Capello into this dicussion :agree:
OK. If Ancelotti is a moron for not recognizing Henry for his great potential as a striker, playing him instead as a wide midfielder ... what does that say about Capello for playing Mutu as a wide midfielder when everyone already knows Mutu's prior capabilities as a forward?
