Sergio goes like dis:

Forty-Niners, Dodgers, Lakers, USC Trojans, Canadiens and then splits his ticket with Juve/Fiorentina.

Yes, Robert, you are correct on all counts. However, I wouldn't necessarily call it a split between Juve/Fiorentina. I would say 85/15 in Juve's favour, except when they play against Juve.

I've always loved the city from the times I've been there, and Roberto Baggio is, and always will be, my favourite player of all time, and that is where he obviously began to make a name for himself.

Alas, we may never see an italian player of his qualities ever again. Shame, too. Imagine what could have been if he didn't injure his knee, just like Alex

And speaking of the 49ers, it looks like they are trying to do all they can to get themselves out of a top 5 pick in next year's draft.

Oh, that's just great. Somebody tell me why they fired Mariucci again?????

where would he go after this? i doubt chicago would sack smith for him. detroit? KC? StL?
I have no idea.

Don't get me wrong, I have no issues with him as a head coach. I think he could be a good NFL head coach. A man of his conviction, dedication, and principles is not something that you find every day.

The problem with the 49ers right now does not just lie with the talent, or lack thereof, which is surprising considering how much they've spent on free agency the last 4 years.

The problem is restoring the image of the 49ers being the "Rolls Royce" of the NFL, and that starts with ownership. The Yorks simply HAVE to sell this team, and bring in a whole new management, from Head coach, to scouting director, to director of player personnel and general manager.

Its absolutely painful to watch these guys, and their ineptitude

the strange thing is that they dismantled a contending team about 6 years ago. garcia and owens were still going strong (as proven today) and you were still contending. i bring that up because i'm still bitter about that playoff game you stole from us in '02 during shockey's rookie season.

basically a few pieces away from remaining a contender in the NFC but for some reason the management decided to blow the team up

Garcia wouldn't accept a pay cut from his 10 million dollar salary at the time, so they decided to cut him.

Compound that with sub par drafts from 2001-2003, and you had the building blocks for the disaster that you see before you right now
