A lot of people are saying we are doomed. But I dont believe it. Too much talent on this roster. I don't mind Tomsula, he will be a motivator. He seems switched on as well. Hopefully the players really want to fight for him and he can get another season out of Justin Smith. In saying all that I agree with you, we need to surround him with and OC and DC that are top notch. Preferably experienced as well. They are saying Shanahan might come back and I wouldn't mind that. It is clear we are running the rock. As for DC I'm hearing Tarver. It seems a certainty Tarver will come in some capacity.
I think we also got the skins o line coach.
quite the homer you are, aren't ya?
Talent without direction means jack all, mate. 9ers had plenty of it right before khaki pants took over and you saw what happened (well, you'd have, if you were a 9ers fan back then

).
TBH, Tomsula is a better hire than I thought you Yorkies would pull off. Sure, he is the "yes"-man they were looking for but the guy seems to have talent and charisma to succeed even if there is a real chance he may fall victim to unrealistic expectations by the very people, who appointed him in the first place.
He's facing a very tricky task in having to rebuilt virtually the entire coaching staff for the 9ers. This is hard enough for experienced coaches to maintain year after year, forget about a first timer, facing so much scrutiny. Putting together the right people is way more difficult than it may seem and that would be have a lot more weight than the amount of talent already on the roster. What I am saying is that "this is a reload, not a rebuilt" rhetoric may very soon have to be flipped around and am pretty sure Jed York would rather wash his hands with Tomsula than give the fans a "sorry, my bad" speech down the line.
That doesn't mean the 9ers are doomed for sure but there are many, many decisions that lay before them that they need to get right and that goes for both the new coach and the management. There is a very fine line between a winning franchise and a mediocre one and it generally has little to do with the amount of talent currently on the roster. Talent comes and goes, same goes for cap space and such. The one constant that remains, however, is the (in)competent management at the top - that's who draws that line.
