Fox is welcoming them back because:
A) The ratings for the reruns of Family Guy on Adult Swim are through the roof.
B) The sales of the DVD Compilations are the best-selling series DVD's on the market
Btw, for Fox, the economics of TV media just don't add up. Being "through the roof" on Adult Swim, for example, is paltry when compared to a non-cable-TV network like Fox. What is considered a hit on cable can mean certain, immediate death on network television.
For example, Jenny McCarthy had a show on MTV that boasted a million viewers. Gangbusters for cable TV. So network television gave her a show, and it bombed. A million viewers there is considered a dismal failure where a lot of executives will get fired.
