Juventus Amauri challenged by fans: go, go on a cruise

His sweet words against the team rosanero ("In Palermo, returning with the heart"), are certainly not unheard past the Juventus fans who have not lost an opportunity to express their anger with Amauri.

The Brazilian striker, a naturalized Italian who does not score in the league since last February just yesterday he publicly expressed his appreciation to the possible return to Sicily, where he experienced his best seasons. Here then is that during Juventus-Catania 2 to 0, the fans rose up against the player displaying a banner also quite eloquently against it, "Amauri go, go on a cruise." A real break that seems even more to push the player to say goodbye. The only one that still seems to believe in a chance to stay in Turin Amauri is the technical Delneri that because of injuries has never been able to deploy the striker.

Amauri: 'I'm staying at Juventus'

Amauri has told reporters that he is staying at Juventus at least until June amid speculation regarding his future.

It's no secret that Juventus are frustrated with his lack of goals and would like to move him on, partly because of his wages.

Yesterday Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini said he would have no problem in taking Amauri back to Sicily.

However, he did admit that in order to do so the Brazilian would have to slash his pay packet.

Speaking to Sky Italia, Amauri said: “For now I want to work to the best of my ability so I can give a contribution to help this team, then in June I will make a point out of the situation and decide my future.

“Right now things aren't going well, but I don't want to escape. I want to stay at Juve at least until June.”
