and we are not barca, aaron...we cannot spend 34m here...another 35m there...also, the kind of players Barca go for, would not consider us, in our present state.

we desperately need new spirit and talent in the squad. I don't see the attack as the main area in need of transformation. So, i am trying to work out how we could tinker with it, without blowing our whole summer budget on attackers. the budget should be focussed, almost exclusively on wingers, fullbacks and a partner for chiellini. I have been consistently critical of Amauri all season, but now, like the others who have failed us and themselves over this last season, perhaps he not only deserves a chance to give us value for the huge money he is on, and we paid for him, and also, under a 4-4-2, he should naturally be more at home...

What happened to the 200 million euros to be spent over 3 seasons?

Anywho... You don't need world class players to provide quality service. Just a couple fellows who provide a decent ball into the box. Juventus can certainly afford that.

I see you guys buying a winger or wide player forward and then concentrating on defense.

PS. I never even suggested that Juventus go for Barca talent. I merely pointed out that Amauri is merely a finisher with decent dribbling skills not a creative force a'la Lionel Messi.

Amauri isn't Messi. He's always been a striker that depends on service and always will be. Juventus knew this when they bought him.
He is meant to link the play better than he has, though.

Anyway, Amauri has got an unfair amount of criticism this season, given that the whole team has been mince.

According to wiki...

Amauri had 17 goals in 89 appearances for Chievo.

23 goals in 52 appearances for Palermo.

17 goals in 59 appearances for Juventus.

So at least he's been better at Juve than he was in Verona.

@ Red: "Mince".:eyebrows: I like it.

They missed the statistics for working hard because had they show that, Amauri would have wiped the floor with every other forward on earth.
It doesn't matter how hard you work, if your work is shit and fruitless.

I am not of the opinion that he is useless, but he was certainly our worst performer of this last season. And mentally, he is obviously not Right...Whether he can recover his mind, his focus, his confidence, is down to Del Neri now.
