Amauri is mentally struggling right now, and Ciro have nothing to add to the physiological factor of his game as he is clearly NOT another Pep Guardiola. When a player struggle mentally it means this is the most crucial time of his career. If it was Gus Hiddink, or Carlo Ancelotti you would see a different motivated Amauri.
By the way I think most members here are judging him since day one. Well heck I watched him since day 1 in Italy in seire A and he is a great striker.

I think folks need to stop mentioning Pep with Ferrara in every post. They both have different squads, different situations, and different opponents so it's really difficult to compare them as managers. Obviously, Pep is more experienced, but I'd say that with Barca's squad Ciro wouldn't be getting so much stick around here. And I also really doubt Pep would save us from all our problems.
I disagree, Amauri made a name of himself, just because he was able to deliver without proper service, he is strong, agile, technic and fast enough to make an impact by himself.
He is not on form now, but i m expecting him to be a competent SS, thats the least he can do, considering he is a mediocre finisher.
Just like i ve been saying for the day we bought him, he CANT replace a true CF finisher, like Treze, he need a finisher besides him to get the job done and know we dont have such a finisher and its counter effective to use Amauri as the lone striker, as long as he cant even do what he is best at (creating havoc by himself)
I had great expectations from Amauri, Diego and Melo, this year but unfortunately they did not deliver, those gents cant make the difference without our old and real champions!

The point is in my opinion, to make some decisive steps forward, in order to understand our potential and our needs.
The guys we have signed are great tools and there is always next year, those tools are young enough and will help us in the future, but some of our real champions are about to retire, (DP, Treze) we need to have them replaced with other champions, because apparently, the current crop, cant make the difference without such players!
I m not worried about this season, i never had great expectations anyway,
hopes maybe, but not realistic expectations!
But i m really worried about our strategic investments, because 75mil for 3 players, is not smth we can afford any day...
Our long term plans are more important than our current condition.
Our current condition only affects the quick fixes (Grosso, Canna)

Amauri leaves the field for a problem in the gluteus
Besides the defeat, there is another reason not to be satisfied with the match against Bordeaux. The reason is Amauri. The Brazilian left the field on the 32nd minute of the second half, substituted by Giovinco for a problem with the gluteus. His conditions will be examined tomorrow when the team returns to Vinovo.
