Juve ready to give up on Amauri

Juventus are starting to lose patience with Amauri and will sign another striker in the January transfer window if he can't find the net soon.

The 30-year-old Italy international of Brazilian descent hasn't scored at home since Valentines Day :lol2: and Juventus need help up front if they are to mount a title challenge.

Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta has already drawn up a list of possible reinforcements in attack, such as Diego Forlan, Maxi Lopez, Alberto Gilardino and Alessandro Matri.

However, Gigi Del Neri believes Amauri only needs a run in the side without injury to find the consistency that has been missing from his game since the first six months of his career in Turin.

Amauri will get his chance to impress in the Europa League against Salzburg tomorrow evening.

La Gazzetta dello Sport is sceptical about his future, though, underlining the fact Amauri has only once scored 15 goals in a single season in Serie A. :lol2:

Nevertheless, Del Neri admires the other parts of his game, notably his sense of sacrifice and ability to hold up the ball.

Yeah, you gotta hand it to him for work-rate. He out-muscles defenders for headers, which go completely wide, all the time. He also almost out-sprints them quite frequently. He's got a lot of things going for him, no doubt. He just needs to master something that's actually useful. Like scoring goals.

He jumps really high. What more can you ask for? He can even get to Molinaro crosses and head them wide.

That's great that he almost out-sprints them.

Combined with his ability to almost score he could become almost good.
