It's just not right to spend so much on just one player we actually don't really need.I think if we certainly buy another striker this year it has to be a younger one than Amauri who can replace Trezeguet in about 2 years time. Amauri certainly isn't old,don't get me wrong and he is definitely class but still I would prefer Huntelaar for example or even Lanzafame and keep Palladino.
Nocerino hasn't been good lately,you're right. He was great at the start of the season and he even earned himself comparisons to Gattuso. Now he is just a shadow of himself,I don't know what's wrong with him but I guess a bad phase is pretty normal at his age. I am convinced that he will be great and that we will regret it if we trade him for Amauri.Same story with Palladino. They both got the talent,but they both aren't getting too much playing time at the moment. I see Palladino performing great after he played like 6-8 matches as a striker. I don't know,maybe I'm a bit biased when it comes to young Italian talents from our primavera,but I don't want them to leave after this season.
About Marchionni,I don't mind selling him.

I'm pretty sure he WILL find his form. One day. And I'm pretty sure Secco and Ranieri know that too, but it's a fact that we have Sissoko in that place who already found his form and still can improve. plus they are the same age, so there is no room for Nocerino. If sissoko improves his passing a bit, he can be one of the top DMs in Serie-A (if not europe), and as a backup if he's suspended (which will happen one time or another) we have zanetti for another season or two.
The question is; will nocerino ever be better than sissoko. Nobody knows for sure but imo he won't. He will improve, no question about that, but so will sissoko, but the latter has CL-experience, played in another league already and just does not seem to get tired. So, should this deal be true, secco/ranieri predicted that nocerino will never be better than sissoko, which seems alright to me.
As for marchionni, it's similar. There's no doubt that those young players will improve and will make an impact. The question is just how needed they are for juve. I mean marchionni comes from the moggi-time, there is no doubt this boy must have something about him. But it's just that he isn't unreplaceable for juve

I see your point, and i agree with you on most of them. BUT, fact is; Huntelaar would have cost us 25-30mio euros CASH. I can't think of Ajax wanting any nocerinos or marchionnis for their superstar. And we simply don't have that money right now. But we have players we don't really need, and if you want to make the best money out of them, you need to trade them, and to trade italian talents, you can only look inside the serie-a. I can't think of a good team willing to give away their best striker for nocerino and marchionni except a mid-table serie-a team. So, looking at serie a's strikers, i think we have made the best out of it by aiming for amauri.
As for the age; you're right. Someone around 22yrs would have been MUCH better, but let's not forget that del piero can't play all the games anymore, and with CL coming up... (he was rather bad when we played more than 1 game per week) Amauri is pretty versatile and i think he could replace Trez and Del Piero whatever position is needed at that moment. Plus, let's not forget that there were games where trez was invisible. Don't get me wrong, i really like our Trez, but if you play against strong teams, with a solid defense, Trez can be put out of the game pretty easily, and that's where he could be subbed for amauri, who can fetch the ball more, and keep the defense more busy and thus making room for the others.
It's undeniable that we do need to reinforce our forward department further in 2 or 3 yrs time, but if we keep palla, i think we already have a first good player (i assume he'll improve a lot)
I see iaquinta as our 4th choice striker then, but iaquinta is like the perfect sub for me. He doesn't need much playing time to score goals... that's just perfect.
So, in short, amauri's signing was NOT completely useless. I see your point asking for younger players, but amauri is good for another 3 or 4 years, and by that time, i hope we have settled in CL again, and can attract younger talents again.

I've heard a lot of people say this, but I absolutely disagree. Ranieri played him out of position a lot that's true, but did you expect him to bench either Del Piero or Trez for Palladino upfront? Or even Iaquinta. Ofcourse not. It was either out of position or the bench. And he did get a few chances in attack, but he failed to impress. It's not Ranieri's fault. It was even his decision to play him out wide that earned Palladino a place in the Azzurri. Dont get me wrong, I hope Palladino will become a great player, but I dont see it happening at Juve sometime soon. He needs to play for a team where he can play in attack regulary.
Back to Amauri, the deal seems ok, altough the cash plus Nocerino would be enough IMO. With Marchionni gone we would need to purchase another winger.

palladino will be fine. just give him time. it would be a good thing to loan him out imo (although it probably won't happen). He'll turn out good. He's benched because we pretty much only have world-class players up front. I mean, with del piero playing in your position (in his current form), you're pretty much doomed for the bench. plus we have a iaquinta in an excellent form, so it's just normal to be benched. palla, just as much as the fans, need to be patient. His time will come, i'm pretty sure of this. He for the after-del piero time. he's 23, in 2 years he could be crucial for us when del piero leaves. Plus, we don't desperately need money now, so why not wait and see how he develops. It's useless selling him now for 10mio or something just to find out that our average age in our forward department is somehwat around 30, and that in 3 years time we will be left with NO attacker.
