If it's realy true that Ranieri vetoed the deal a fex weeks ago, why would he change his mind? Signing Amauri is only a good deal if Nocerino, Almiron, Marchionni or even Tiago are involved, otherwise I'm not in favour.

Read this article from goal.com it basically says exactly everything i have been saying about the Amauri transfer for the past several months. If Secco swaps
Giovinco, Marchisio, De Ceglie and 15 million for Amauri that will be more of a hit to my love for juventus then Calciopoli! Seriously this is absolutely the worst deal juventus could ever make!

If you are to sit down and assess the good and bad points about Juventus’ season, high up on the list of positives will undoubtedly be their strike-force.

Once again Alessandro Del Piero and David Trezeguet have proved to the best and most consistent partnership in Serie A, hitting a wonderful 30 goals between them. Vincenzo Iaquinta has also impressed when given the chance, hitting eight goals in 23, and often being decisive when coming off the bench. Juve’s fourth attacker, Raffaele Palladino, who will be sold in the summer, has largely struggled, but despite this few can argue about the merits of the Bianconeri attack.

Indeed many would say that it is the best forward line-up in the whole of Serie A. Inter’s foursome of Ibrahimovic, Cruz, Crespo and Suazo would contest this, but in reality the former two of these have struggled terribly in 2008, while the latter pair have, for various reasons, had largely miserable campaigns throughout.

It is quite true that both Del Piero, 33, and Trezeguet, 30, are starting to knock up a few miles on the clock. They are still performing though and regardless of their age, Juventus surely have to put their transfer priorities in place.

Before even considering the signing of another attacker, the Old Lady need to purchase a left back, centre back, and a centre midfielder.

Christian Molinaro is simply not good enough in the left back position, while it is also questionable, despite his surprisingly good form, whether a Scudetto or Champions League challenge is possible with Nicola Legrottaglie at centre half. The lack of creativity in the centre of midfield is a well known problem so there is no need to dig up old dirt there. Even a long-term replacement for Pavel Nedved on the left-hand side of midfield should be more or a priority than Amauri.

Amauri is an excellent player, but he is simply not what Juventus need. Quite where he would fit into the Juventus attack is also up for debate. It is well known that Trezeguet can only prosper next to a skilful support striker, like Del Piero. Amauri is certainly not this type of player.

A 4-3-3 of Amauri, Trezeguet and Del Piero simply cannot work, meaning that only two from these three can play at once. Then of course there is Vincenzo Iaquinta to consider, not to mention the hugely talented Sebastian Giovinco, who, providing Alessio Secco doesn’t succeed in selling him, could be a real trump card.

Where are Iaquinta and Giovinco going to fit in?

With added Champions League football, rotation and squad depth will certainly be important. However there is surely no point having five top quality attackers, if you’re left back, centre back and centre midfielder are inadequate.

Absolutely. Even if it's to be a striker it should be an outright finisher to replace Trez if injured/tired (which he has been at some point during any CL season) How is Amauri all that different to Iaquinta?

Also if we're going to sell the family silver it should be for a rising star rather than a senior gamble. Looking at Suazo's situation at Inter it is incredible we are going all out for a mid table star instead of thinking of the future and landing the Hunter.

:wallbang: i don't know abot you guys but this is starting to annoy me, I bet this goes on till the last day of the transfer window and we end up throwing giovinco , marchisio and D.C all in to the deal.

I don't think Amauri is absolutly essential to have in our team next season so I hope we pull out before we do something stupid.

Guys!! these rumors just ruin my life, will we really pay 10mill + Noverino and marcionni and " Giovinco may be included " for a player we dont need, while Milan is -according to Goal.com-will pay ONLY 20mill for Ronaldinho !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And when the Russians rumors came up, it's been said that we need the cash to sign the likes of Maxi and Lampard, forgetting about Diego, VDV, whoever replaces Nedved or any experienced defender, while Milan is completing the signing of Ronaldinho and Sheva

We're gonna get fucked next season

And what would happen if Trezeguet and Del Piero got injured? Who would play? Iaquinta and Palladino? I don't see Palladino as a prospect to the future. He mau have technical abbilities but he hasn't got the goalscoring abbility. I think that we need a striker, midfielder, and a few defenders. We should get Amauri, swap Tiago for Maxi, get Flamini and maybe Kewell on free, and with Mellberg comming in june we should get a left and right defender.

Your point does make sense if Del Piero AND Trez get injured yes, but at the same time i dont think Iaquinta and Palladino would be that bad, and you can never be sure either cuz Palla rarely gets to play up front for a long time period. But i do understand ur feelings, cuz it is very possible that Palla's inexperience may hinder our teams scoring etc.

However, in that case 2 players have to be injured for us to then be worried in the striking area. Whereas, Molinaro is our starting LB, bad enough i know, but if he gets injured then who is gonna go there except for maybe Chiellini or Grygera, or sumtn, causing a whole makeover for our defense and probably more problems. Realistically, our defense lacks reinforcements way more than our strikers.

Even in midfield we have the same problem, i mean we would never run out of DM's cause we have that position very inforced. but when Camoranesi has to be moved to CAM occasionally, and his main replacement is Sali or the injured Marchionni, then again we're screwed. I mean look at Nedved, if he gets injured or suspended like he is for milan, we kinda lack other winger options.

All in all, rather than spending on another striker in case two of our strikers become simultaneously injured, lets spend on areas that are already weak when all our players our fit, for example a good LB or a good CAM which we lack even with our entire squad is fit.

Milan are negotiating with Ronaldinho's brother (and agent) for years. These rumours and this potential deal isn't something that suddenly popped up out of nowhere.
They're trying to get Dinho, negotiating every single detail, even before Secco and co. took over Juventus.
You don't buy something as big as Ronaldinho in one day. That's a complicated process. You need huge financial resources (if you do the maths you'll see that Ronaldinho will cost close to 80m eur, not 20m), you need lots of time and lots of meetings to even get in a position to talk about an eventual transfer.

Milan had everything on their side. By over-paying for Oliveira (at the time when we just dropped to serie B) they made sure that they'll stay in contact with Oliveira's agent, who coincidently or not, is Ronaldinho's agent.
At the time when we were preparing to play in serie B, Milan organized tournaments where they invited Ronaldinho as special guest.
At the time when we were playing Mantova in B, Berlusconi was offering 100m eur to Barcelona while Galliani and Braida were flying to Spain once in a week.
At the time when we fired Deschamps and when during the last match of serie B Trezeguet made that hand gesture that he's leaving and when our board had to make sure that we'll keep our stars, Milan won the CL and got millions and millions of EUR, enough to offer Ronaldinho the wages he wants.

Then there is one small detail....... how attractive is Milan to Ronaldinho ? Kaka, Ronaldo, Pato, Cafu, Emerson, Dida.....

And Juve......we lost millions, we played in B, we didn't know nothing about our future.
Were we even in a position to start negotiations with someone like Ronaldinho ?
And how willing is Ronaldinho to join Juve ? It's less than a year since we came back from B, financially we're inferior to the reachest teams in Europe and top players still don't feel secure to join us.

Sometimes you guys need to go deeper and look at the big picture. This is not a computer FM game. It's real life.

there's so many so-called transfer gurus on the net that you don't know who to believe but Amauri may join Real instead and we would go for The Hunter. :xfinger:

Juve To Again Offer Giovinco In Amauri Deal?

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus could once again offer Sebastian Giovinco to Palermo as part of the deal to sign Amauri.

Juve To Again Offer Giovinco In Amauri Deal?

Juve are desperate to complete the signing of the Brazilian striker, however Palermo are demanding €25m, and are only willing to do business if this price is made up in a player-plus-cash exchange.

Yesterday it was reported that Bianconeri sporting director Alessio Secco had agreed with his Palermo counterpart Rino Foschi to sign Amauri for €10.5m plus Antonio Nocerino and Marco Marchionni.

However it is believed that Marchionni is unsure whether he wants to make the move to Sicily, while Nocerino is demanding a transfer to either Fiorentina or hometown club Napoli.

It now seems that negotiations are back to square one, and as a result Secco could go back to his original proposal.

It is speculated that the transfer director had originally agreed to sign Amauri for €15m plus young starlets Sebastian Giovinco, Paolo De Ceglie and Claudio Marchisio.

Claudio Ranieri then vetoed this deal at the last minute, but Secco would like to offer Giovinco again as he tries to complete what is becoming something of a transfer saga.

:wallbang: I dont know what to believe!!
If this turn of events is true (which I doubt, I don't think Secco is quite this stupid), then Amauri isn't coming, plain and simple.

There's no way Ranieri is letting Giovinco, De Ceglie or Marchisio go. If he has a veto and used it before, there's no reason to believe he wouldn't use it again.

This whole saga could be providing Secco enough rope to hang himself if this is all true. Amauri is a luxury that Juventus could definitely use, but he's not the only gifted striker around.

That would probably be the best option for all sides involved. Palermo will get their money, Real will get their striker and we'll get ours, while keeping Marchisio and Giovinco.
