  • Giovinco + cash

  • De Ceglie + Criscito + cash

Now i know we can't compete in terms of transfer costs but it's sad to think we can't even compete when it comes to the players' salary.. FFS we cant attract top quality players by offering wages substantially below the market rate and this further proves my point that we will get left behind badly and when our champs are gone we will be a mess
Milan pay their players much bigger wages than we do, if we would offer players like Flamini and Amauri the same wages as Milan do it would mess up our entire wage structure( I mean Flamini to earn more than Nedved, Camoranesi, Del Piero, Zanetti and Trezeguet.. only Buffon would earn more!). It would set a terrible precedent WITHIN our current squad and THEN we would become a mess.

Hence people should not expect any superstars here. They should get that into their heads already. Although I am a bit disappointed we lose another important target. The funny and sad thing is, there are lotsf teams fighting for players we are interested in, and we can only snatch them if they strictly want to play for Juve.

Pretty sad situation, it means our options on the market are limited. Hopefully the situation will change after our CL campaign and in the meantime, we create a great, young squad......

I reckon Amauri's situation will depend wholly on the final match day..

If Milan qualify for CL, chances are Amauri will choose for Milan's wages.

If Milan fail to qualify for CL, Amauri will come to Juventus on OUR(hopefully.. meaning no Giovinco for Palermo) terms.

If we offer Giovinco, I reckon Amauri would be ours either way.

Amauri Close To Milan Move – Report
According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, Palermo have scrapped negotiations with Juventus to sell them Amauri, and the striker will now move to Milan instead.
Print This Story Send To A Friend Contact Us Brazilian striker Amauri had seemed almost certain to sign for Juventus, however negotiations then hit a snag over two main points.

First of all the Bianconeri have refused to meet the 27-year-old’s €3.75m a season wages, only offering €3m.

Secondly both Juve and Palermo have failed to reach an agreement over the players who will be included in part exchange.

As a result, the Gazzetta says that Palermo are now ready to accept Milan’s far superior offer for Amauri.

Milan are willing to pay €15m, and also include Lino Marzorati and Ignazio Abate in the deal, both of whom are currently at Empoli this season, the former on loan, and the latter in a co-ownership deal.

Palermo are ready to accept this offer, as they look to finally close what has become something of a long drawn-out soap transfer saga.

Juventus meanwhile could be left disappointed at missing out yet again on a top transfer target to a close rival. However, if confirmed, club supporters may be more relieved by the news that Giovinco, who had been rumoured to be on his way to Palermo, looks likely to stay now

If we lost him because Secco didn't agree to selling/loaning Giovinco, I don't mind.

Yes and before you know it we would be on par with teams such as Fiorentina who have a strict wage limit.. Successful clubs are successful by having talented players and the fact is we need to offer better wages if we are to attract talent and thus break our wage structure!

Would you rather follow the lead of UEFA cup teams or of successful clubs both on the pitch and off it (e.g. Man U, Milan & so on).. Times have changed and cash rules everything, we simply need to get up to date and pay ridicilous wages as are the rest Europes big clubs in order to maintain our success..

We've always been a club that has had to deal with a little less external cash influx than the Milan's, Man u's, Chelsea's(recently of course) and Madrid's. We have to maintain a well balanced budget to maintain our team, we would go bust if we offer wages we can't handle. Though we are certainly not poor, Fiorentina and Roma are still a long way below us, we can't spend like idiots.

I would rather follow the lead of UEFA cup teams (but what do you know, we qualified for CL anyway!), then to implode like Lazio did a couple of years ago.

I see where you coming from but results and cash are becoming more and more correlated.. If we can't keep up with the financial aspects of Milan & so on, we will suffer in terms of success and the current footballing climate is showing that this will happen

Football has changed immensely recently and as little as 10 years ago we would not be having this discussion but...

What makes me laugh, ok i know giovinco has talent. say he stays and doesnt live up to the expectations??? what we gonna say then? We gave him a chance & it didnt work?? we are in the so called big time now so we need to make a impact. risking giovinco at the moment may not be the best solution. Im against amauri coming lets get that out the way but say he turns out to be awesome in a bigger club? to be honest i doubt we'll get him now cos this is turning in2 a milito scenario, and with the people we had to finalise our transfer deals are a complete waste of time.
sometimes you need to take risks in football, at Juve i don't think we have taken enough educated risks. We have gambled on players who have never played at international level or have a history of serious injurys. You have to take some risks every once in awhile but you can reduce your risk by being sensible. Look at Milan they have risked on Pato and Kaka and both have worked out perfectly because they evaluated the qualities of both players and they suited their team's needs.

Why not take an educated risk on a player who is 21, the star of the U21s, the star of his current team, the star of our Primavera and provides us with 3 key things we lack (pace, directness and creativity) instead of wasting him and losing out on him to a rival Serie A team in exchange for a far riskier transfer in a striker who is 28, only really played well in the past couple of seasons and has no international/european experiance.

Im not against Amauri i do think he would probably be a good signing for a top team, but giving our prized asset for the future away as PART EXCHANGE for him is crazy! Im sure we can get him by offering someone like Marchionni or Nocerino so why waste Giovinco.

    Amauri-Juve: ci siamo

L'incontro è tuttora in corso.

Despite the unnecessary bad press Amauri gets here (for things that are outside his controll), I really hope Milan doesnt get him and we do. Its very possible to get him without even considering Giovinco, despite how insistent they are. Just offer little more money.

    That's what I'm talking about.....splash the cash.....

many will altough say: we dont have cash to splash....... then what the fck are we talking about? Scudetto,CL? UEFA Cup and Intertoto are then our prime objectives....

Yeay, go Milan pls buy him!!!

If they buy him that would mean:

+ We get to keep Giovinco,Marchisio and De Ceglie
+ More money to transfers in places we really hurt, less free-junk players
+ Better back up solutions for the present and the future
+ Quality players in our roster from our academies, conforming to the new UEFA rules
    + Financial balance in wages
+ Balance in our forward line
+ More money/chances to buy a quality midfielder or a top defender
+ We might try and find a different way, tactic-wise to solve our creativity problems
=>Our interest in AMFs will grow again

+ Milan wont buy Drogba and destroy the balance between the two clubs, they wont become impossible to compete with Amauri and Flamini (but with Drogba/Berbatov and Diego/Ronaldinho they would)
+ Milan will have less money to spend in the transfer market and we would a have a less determined transfer opponent to face!!
+ Gila will probably become available for a price tag similar to Palla's
+ New competitor to help us bring down Inter's supremacy
+ Milan will take the risk that Amauri will choke on the greatest level and since they dont have many alternative choices, they might pay that risk pretty bad!!

-Milan will grow a bit stronger and if they further upgrade their squad, they might dominate the league
-Milan will prove again that they always get the lions share and we only feed on cheap left overs
    -We might actually take Gilla
-We gave Miccoli in a low price for nothing
-Stupid Secco might actually sell or loan Giovinco in the end, without getting a significant player instead...

Lanzafame was at the meeting with Juve's group and Foschi(Palermo) was there also. The deal would be 10m € + Nocerino + ½Lanzafame which means Amauri's value would be about 22-24m €.

They only need to find an agreement with the player according to nesti.it
