It's amazing how little people know about Almiron, let alone Seba Veron. I was looking at another thread and people had trouble even understanding what sort of player Veron is..

Sergio Almiron is a great player in my opinion and plays very similar to Veron, meaning that he can work all over the pitch and string passes together with some of the best. His passing range is very good, not quite that of Veron's but close, and he also can tackle better than the regular playmaker. Almiron comes back for the ball, drifts out to the wings, and works around the 18 to provide Empoli with that outlet for someone who can make sensical passes around the pitch.

This sort of player is EXACTLY what Juventus needs. Lets examine our central midfield staff over the years... Tacchinardi, Nedved, Emerson, Blasi, Vieira, Zanetti, Giannichedda, Paro. None of these players are distinctively creative nor have the ability to playmake all over the pitch. Ever since we sold Zidane we have lacked a midfielder who can simply be the quarterback with the ball... stringing passes together with ease and actually making sense. It's about time we finally employed somebody who has creativity and a fantastic passing range. Instead of just having two primarily ball winners in the side, we will have a playmaker who can tackle next to somebody like Zanetti or Diarra or Gilberto who can do the dirty work. In today's game a team does not need two purely defensive midfielders in the center of the pitch... so we will hopefully have Almiron or another player such as Xabi Alonso who can actually make sense with the ball and give us added ideas next to a destroyer. In today's football you need that sort of balance in midfield, especially when you have little creativity up top.

Almiron has loads of talent and if he plays for Juventus he will have more weapons around him which hopefully will make him an ever better player. Personally, I believe Almiron is a logical signing if he can come for a good price as there is no way we will pull players such as Xabi Alonso, Gerrard or Xavi away from their clubs. Time to make Almiron into the next Veron, a fantastic player.

I dnt know if you guys remember but, last year he scored a sick free kick like 30+ yards out against us. Buffon couldn't stop it. It was pretty impressing...
