The reason why I am posting this is simple. In my nearly 40 years of taking up valuable time, space, energy, and oxygen on this planet, I have been going to conerts since I was 7 years old, my first being KISS in 1977 during the Love Gun tour. You name it, I have seen them. Some of the biggest acts in the history of music. Michael Jackson, Madonna, Prince (6 times), KISS (4 times), Van Halen,
Black sabbath, Deep Purple, Def Leppard, U2, Aerosmith, Guns n' Roses, Rush, Triumph, Bon Jovi, Korn, Disturbed, Metallica, AC/DC, Steely Dan, Duran Duran, Dave Matthews Band, The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Jay Z, Run Dmc, Earth wind & Fire.
The list just goes on and on.
However..............................................
Last Night.
Last Night.
I bore witness to the single greatest musical event in my entire life, and no matter how many more concerts I go to for the rest of my days, I know that I will never, ever be able to say to anyone that any particular show that I have been to, or will go to in the future will even compare.
I, along with 45000 other screaming, dancing, singing, laughing, crying, diehards at a sold out Fenway Park in Boston last night had the honor and privelege of being in the presence of the only true musical king the world has today, and I am talking about the incomparable Sir Paul McCartney.
34 Songs, 2 hours and 40 minutes of music for a career spaning 45 years. He was in perfect form, his voice stronger than its been in 15 years, not once during the first 90 minute set did he even stop for a drink of water. His band was air tight. The sound, the lighting, the absolutely incredible pyrotechnical display and fireworks show during "Live and let Die" (Youtube it so you can see for yourself). The touching and emotional tributes to John, George, and Linda. Everything was just perfect.
Absolutely incredible. I am frantically scrambling to get tickets for tonight's show, if there are any left over. My mind is officially blown away. I don't know how a man of his age (67), can perform with such energy and enthusiasm and not miss a beat.
So my question to all of you is. What is your most memorable concert that you have ever been to?
