The reason why I am posting this is simple. In my nearly 40 years of taking up valuable time, space, energy, and oxygen on this planet, I have been going to conerts since I was 7 years old, my first being KISS in 1977 during the Love Gun tour. You name it, I have seen them. Some of the biggest acts in the history of music. Michael Jackson, Madonna, Prince (6 times), KISS (4 times), Van Halen,
Black sabbath, Deep Purple, Def Leppard, U2, Aerosmith, Guns n' Roses, Rush, Triumph, Bon Jovi, Korn, Disturbed, Metallica, AC/DC, Steely Dan, Duran Duran, Dave Matthews Band, The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Jay Z, Run Dmc, Earth wind & Fire.

The list just goes on and on.

However..............................................

Last Night.

Last Night.

I bore witness to the single greatest musical event in my entire life, and no matter how many more concerts I go to for the rest of my days, I know that I will never, ever be able to say to anyone that any particular show that I have been to, or will go to in the future will even compare.

I, along with 45000 other screaming, dancing, singing, laughing, crying, diehards at a sold out Fenway Park in Boston last night had the honor and privelege of being in the presence of the only true musical king the world has today, and I am talking about the incomparable Sir Paul McCartney.

34 Songs, 2 hours and 40 minutes of music for a career spaning 45 years. He was in perfect form, his voice stronger than its been in 15 years, not once during the first 90 minute set did he even stop for a drink of water. His band was air tight. The sound, the lighting, the absolutely incredible pyrotechnical display and fireworks show during "Live and let Die" (Youtube it so you can see for yourself). The touching and emotional tributes to John, George, and Linda. Everything was just perfect.

Absolutely incredible. I am frantically scrambling to get tickets for tonight's show, if there are any left over. My mind is officially blown away. I don't know how a man of his age (67), can perform with such energy and enthusiasm and not miss a beat.

So my question to all of you is. What is your most memorable concert that you have ever been to?

Same reaction, substitute Michael Jackson Dangerous tour in '93. I was 11 and I'm fairly sure there's nothing else that will ever make an impression like that.

I wanna be you, Sergio. Those are some memorable artists you've had the privilege to see...I wish I've seen half of them.

But being from Croatia, a country which most artists avoid, I've not had the oppurtunity to see many big names live. My biggest experiences both happened last year when I saw Mark Knopfler and Iron Maiden. Knopfler's concert was the cream of the crop, it was an intimate event which started of with everyone being seated down(as it was something Knopfler requested), but when he started some Straits classics, emotions got the best of people and everyone jumped up and went to the stage. It was really a night to remember. You can find some videos I took here.

Maiden was a much bigger concert, over 30K people in a stadium, but due to poor organisation it was not as good as it should have been. I had tickets for the Headbangers Pit which very easily could have turned into a "Death Pit" beacuse of the enourmous amount of people that jumped the fence to get in there. Either way I got to see Bruce wave the Brittish flag on Trooper, hear the "Scream for me...." chant and witness classics like Hallowed Be Thy Name, Fear Of The Dark, Aces High, etc. I would have given a 3-months paycheck to see Maiden and even though the organisation was poor, it was an incredible experience.

My biggest regret was The Rolling Stones almost a decade ago. I was a kid with no real income and it was not even worth to ask my Dad for the money to buy a ticket. Hope they come again before they die.

Other bands I'd like to see:
AC/DC
Gilmour or Pink Floyd
Eric Clapton(preferably in the Pula Arena)
Deep Purple(they were in Split last year but I had no money to go)
Jethro Tull
Rage Against The Machine

Next concert I have in line is Massive Attack in a couple of months here in Zagreb. The best electronic band ever.

Your one lucky guy Sergio, Id love to see McCartney.

Would also love to see David Gilmour/Pink Floyd or Brian Wilson.

But the greatest performance I've had the pleasure to see is already on your list and that is The Boss Bruce Springsteen!

Seen him a few weeks back for the 4th time and the man just keeps getting better.

I also seen David Bowie a few years back and even though im a big fan of his I have to say he has nothing on the Boss

I saw teh Chili Peppers and STP during Californication Tour in like '99.

Saw The Roots at Wake Chapel at Wake Forest University in '03.

Seen a bunch of other shows, but those two were fun.
