I'm not too sure about that one, back at Udinese Sanchez was given a free role and was allowed to drift to both of the flanks. I think that's the best for physical fragile players like Sanchez or Giovinco, but it doesn't seem like we would consider such a role for our SS, hence why Gio is failing massively for the past 3 months. Sanchez also spended a lot of time in the center of the pitch making the side more of a 3-5-1-1.

I think Jovetic being able to move, pass and shoot in small spaces would suit us better. Just not enough to warrant 30M though.
Giovinco has 9 goals and 7 assists from 1936 minutes in Serie A and Champions league - scores a goal/assists a goal every 121 minutes.
Vucinic has 8 goals and 5 assists from 1803 minutes in Serie A and Champions league - scores a goal/assists a goal every 138 minutes.

I have preferred Giovinco all season to Mirko, and thought he was more involved and more if not equally useful than Mirko. As for the stats (and what else can we judge strikers on other than goals and assists primarily???) Giovinco is presently doing better than Vucinic. Perhaps this spate of jeering Giovinco and criticizing his performances comes from over inflated expectations??? And everyone knows that Mirko is a lazy, rarely fully interested, flair player whose determination is a pittance of that expected of everyone in the team but him, so expectations of him are low and therefore he is having a good season???

I suspect Sebastian will improve, given he has had less time with Conte and this Juve squad in comparison to Mirko. But 'failing massively'???? That seems not just hard, but worthy of if not ridicule, in the very least a suggestion to peek at the stats and also highlight exactly how is failing massively in his firtst season in the Conte Juve.

I always find watching the game a useful way of judging players.

Stats can't tell you how vital Vucinic is in terms of setting up the play for Juve.

The way Vucinic is being asked to play this season, I would actually say it is quite unfair to classify him as a striker or to judge him by the sort of criteria one would normally judge a striker by.

:hellyes:

Very true and i also agree i would much rather see Gio if he were to realize to be alittle more involved. I never liked Vucinic his lazy style of play really is hard to watch

While his stats can't tell you the whole story, he can still be blamed for being casual and for being often dispossessed.

I am well aware of that, as I thought was obvious from what i wrote...when I mentioned how involved players were. but I guess you missed that. Ultimately yes, I think a striker is judged primarily on goals and assists. True enough those two stats don't take into account team selection, movement, space afforded and other factors, but those factors are far more a hindrance when using stats to augment opinion formed of watching performances in other positions. I am saying, its easier to get an idea of how good a striker is from how may goals he scores and creates...

As for Mirko, I judge him as I judge all players on their work rate, determination and consistency of proving fundamental to the team. I'm aware of the job he does, and sometimes he does it brilliantly, but more often he does not. His hot streaks and moments don't win us enough games, for me to feel he cannot be replaced with someone considerably better and not an astronomical cost.

Absolutely. Spot on. I hated Mirko during most of last season, but this one he really improved even though he's far and away from perfection. He is fundamental to this team's trademark: ball possession and generation of many goal opportunities.

I don't think its a secret that Jovetic will be gone in the summer, its more a question of where than when.

Prade has already admitted to saying Jovetic would be the only player sold in the summer to raise funds and just last week he said he wanted Borini or Osvaldo.

I just hope Jovetic is heading to Turin and not Manchester.

Would he accept Viola move is the question.
:boh: Maybe if they make the CL.

All depends on what happens to Mancini. However initial reports say they're going for more of a number '9' which Jovetic isn't.

Then again, we know Napoli loves Jovetic and if they sell Cavani they could pay his buy out clause(if it exists)

My feeling is..... Juvetic! Or Conte will walk :p

This is the case for all our strikers. Hot and cold. 2 good matches then 3 crappy ones. Very frustrating during most of the game but they show up with 1 good moment and score a goal. Gio and Vucinic are so much alike in their inconsistency.

Think you're reading too much into that interview Conte gave a few days ago tbh.
Nah, Nick is right, clear as day conte is leveraging something. and since it apparently cant be the contract, i'm supposing its players.

he mentionned before newyear that he wanted a big signing, or that we could do it or something
