Juventus sporting director Alessio Secco has responded to a number of reports linking the club with a host of fresh faces.

The Turin giants have already moved to bring Fabio Cannavaro back to the club from Real Madrid this summer, while Brazilian playmaker Diego is also on his way to Italy from Werder Bremen.

However, the Serie A outfit are not done yet and continue to track a string of potential new recruits.

There have, though, been a number of reports which have proved to be wide of the mark, with Secco distancing Juve from one of those recently rumoured to be heading to Stadio Olimpico.

"[Stuttgart defender Serdar] Tasci? We looked at him two months ago, but since then we got Cannavaro and he is no longer of interest," he told Spazio Radio.

"Also, his contract isn't running out."

Solution

Secco added on those tipped to be leaving the club this summer: "[Marco] Marchionni? Juventus don't want to send anyone away.

"But Marchionni could struggle to find a space in our new diamond formation, so if we find a better solution for him, he will leave."

Secco has also admitted that Juve remain in the hunt for a right-back, with Genoa's Domenico Criscito, Liverpool's Andrea Dossena and Lyon's Fabio Grosso confirmed as possible candidates.

"At the moment we are waiting to see what Genoa's intentions are with Criscito," he said.

"They have until 25th June to reclaim him (offer him a new deal).

"Dossena and Grosso? I can only say these are names not far from reality."

Edit: Obviously Sky Sports is talking about a LB, not a RB as they've stated, considering the players in question.

Secco's interview to Tuttosport:

Ledesma or D'Agostino?
The first one is a good player, a valid alternative. Juve is interested in D'Agostino and is are trying. But right now, is far from reaching an agreement. They will be sensible to this matter.

Pandev?
Not interested.

Tasci?
He is not first choice. In this role, Juve has Cannavaro.

Marchionni?
It's possible that he will leave. With the change of system, he'd probably find no playing time. Juve doesn't send away anyone, but if he can find a way to get more playing time, Juve will consider the offer.

Dossena?
It's a player (whose role) that may interest Juve but it all depends on Genoa's intention with Criscito.

De Ceglie will leave?
Juve didn't say it. He is well in Juve. But Napoli is interested and asked for him.

Mellberg and Poulsen?
The negociation is open. These two may leave.

Trezeguet?
His agents said that some clubs were interested. He has become part of Juve's history. It's difficult to sell him. The offers they received are low, so nothing is concluded. If Trezegol leaves, he will not go to any Italian club, which is certain.

Elano?
The role is covered. Not part of Juve' project.

G.Rossi?
Excellent player. But the attack is complete. Now that Trezeguet's still part of Juve, They'd focus on an ideal system for Trez and for Juve.

this is possibly the last chance to cash in on mellberg and we got cannavaro. i don't really see him staying. i'd keep poulsen as dm backup, in this role he is a very useful player.

It seems secco has finally woken up. I think he is trying to say that if criscito does not come...only then wll we sign another left back...i hope we also sign a right back and get rid of only mellberg...then we can use money raised from mellberg sale to help fund d'ago if the board still wants him or the rb

also the money from possible sales of tiago and marchionni could help buy d'agostino...which i see as an upgrade to tiago as he has proven himslef to be what tiago was supposed to be.. as in a distributor of the ball, contol tempo of the game and also intellignt and strong enough to intercept and tackle to win the ball

Olof should leave and take his friends Poulsen and Tiago (he is not bad though).
Zanneti is such a good player he shouldn't leave, even though he is not getting any younger (none is getting though except bejamin Brutto) :D

IMO, too much money invested in a backup. I'd rather field a youth player for a lower salary in that role -- i.e. Marchisio.
I see Marchisio as part of the center midfield trio Marchisio-Ninja- D'ago

I don't see him as back up at all, let alone being the ideal sub for Sissoko. Sissoko gets alot of cards + the AFC makes me rather keep a relible back up and Poulsen is just that. But if a good offer comes then we'll see.

would rather get rid of more dead weights with high salaries such as Zebina, Tiago, even to an extent Sali before gettig rid of Poulsen.

Mellberg is very much understandable sale, no use for him now, Poulsen if its a really good offer, and we can find decent enough backup DM or such, but otherwise would keep him (very useful for the squad), even if high salary for backup. Tiago, must sell.

Good starting point Secco said excellent player to Rossi instead of not interested like Pandev :D

Give Poulsen 1 more season. We would lose money selling him now, and it would be difficult finding a replacement with as much experience.

Selling Mellberg is good business considering he was a free transfer, but like Poulsen, we wouldn't receive enough to replace him with some1 as experienced.

Tiago, Zebina and Marchionni should definitely be sold though.

I prefer Secco talking to the media than that babbling idiot Gigli, at least he sounds reasonable.

I wouldn't lose sleep if both Mellberg and Poulsen, but i think we should keep them. Mellberg can be very a useful cover in CB and especially in RB imo. When he played their he did very well especially defensively, where we could use him and the same cannot be said for either zebina and grygera. Poulsen also had good game and is not a bad option as a backup player.

We have to remember that it was their first season with the team and in the league so now they have more experience and could have better way to deal with it.
