Secco: Stop Criticising Me & Ranieri
Juventus sporting director Alessio Secco has called for an end to the criticism of him and Claudio Ranieri.
Ranieri has received a great deal of criticism recently, especially following a poor recent run where only one point was picked up from three games.
Secco has also been heavily slated due to some near-disastrous moves in the transfer market, including purchasing Sergio Almiron, Tiago and Jean-Alain Boumsong for a combined fee of €27m.
Secco believes this criticism is unfair, and thinks the Juventus leadership, in particular Ranieri, are doing a fine job.
“Unfortunately that's part of the game,” Secco told Juventus channel.
“The day after the Empoli game, I read critical comments on how we play, on the coach, on how we operated on the market.
“I don't think they were fair, especially the ones criticizing the coach. We're all satisfied with what Ranieri and his staff have achieved until now. He's done a great job since the summer, building a new squad.”
Secco also commented on tomorrow’s big match at San Siro against bitter rivals Inter Milan.
“Matches against Inter have a different meaning, but they're just as delicate and important as all the others, “he explained.
“Most of all they're games that the players wait the whole year for, at the Olimpico as well as at the Meazza.
“Will we decide the title race? I'm only concerned about the team doing well and being masters of their own destiny. I don't really care if we get a result that shifts the table around a bit for other teams.”
