He hinted at it several times. Did you read the interview he gave in Voetbal International two weeks ago?

He said he wants to leave Ajax with a title. He said the level of Eredivisie is getting too low for him and he wants to step up to a higher level. When asked about where he'd like to go, he said
"Well, there are some great clubs out there, AC Milan, ManU, Barça, Real..."
Later in the interview he
We would qualify for that, no? And the fact that he didn't mention Juve nor Chelsea probably means he knows there is contact with them and he wants to be very cautious about it.
Chelsea won a trophy last season no?If he really did say something about going to a club hat hasnt won anything in a while, then it could be us,or maybe even Arsenal.

Quick question. WHY?
Because he played his part in us having a squad capable of competing.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying he was particularly good but folk should accept he did OK, leave off him and let him do better in the future with the experience he has gained.

Secco is not the catastrophy people make him out to be.

+++ Having Buffon, Camo, Trez, Neddy and DP signing a new contract!
++ Bringing Criscito and Nocerino was superb.
+ I first thought Iaquinta was overpriced, yet he proved me wrong.
+/- Most of the people were really happy when we signed Almiron. Now he's underperforming but you can't blame Secco for that.
- Tiago was requested by Ranieri. Still I don't think we really needed him in the first place.
- Andrade looked more like a panic buy after missing out on the (overpriced) Milito. Everyone knew this injury would come.

Well we all knew he is injury prone right? I mean he comes back from a long period of struggling against injuries and then he's brought here to lead our defence? The chance of getting a bad injury was pretty big

are you sure it's Ranieri who requested Tiago? it's crazy that he is the one who asked to get Tiago and never gave him a chance, I mean if it was the board who insisted to bring Tiago and not Ranieri, I would understand him. :undecide:

When Ranieri requested him he was planning to play 4-3-3, a system whih would have suite Tiago.

During pre-season he changed his mind and decided to play 4-4-2 and Tiago was the main casualty of it.

Don't forget that it was Bettega who helped to secure Trezeguet and Buffon stayed as it seemed like Del Piero and Nedved were not going to jump ship. So take about two or so plus' off your list, Geof.

:agree:

Spot on. Ale & Nedved both announced their decisons to stay before anyone needed to persuade them, & Bettega was the main factor in Gigi & Trezeguet staying.
