Yep, two seasons in a row. Delneri and Marotta one. So when he 'pisses on a prick' (?) who do we think is coming in to replace him?
thats what brought us into situation in the first place ... all this "everybody would do better as coach" attitude... this attitude of not being able to appreciate results achieved with a limited team+staff. of course getting mourinho or guus hiddink (or benite... oh wait) would most probably bring us better results, but stop living in the dream world. they aint comin' because they shit bricks thinking of having an actual hard task at hand with limited budget and flawed players.

yeah, i'm the ranieri-lover and have to remind you that exactly this attitude of blind activism or better said negative criticism without an actual plan "b" to do better brought us exactly this 7th place here.

why is it so hard to understand that the coaches we wish to get won't join us anyways ? there is no point in destabilizing the team with a sacking just to get some interim coach, because noone will join us.

even if we had the chance to get some decent coach, it would still be wiser to sit this season out and do the change at the end of the season and not mess up the team with the new ideas and strategies of a new coach.

Mostly true, despite being a defeatist attitude. But at the very least, having a club full of unhappy supporters will spur on changes more quickly than otherwise. In this case, that's a good thing.

On the basis of sticking to your guns, though, nobody should support a crew of individuals one doesn't agree with, even if they "love" your establishment.
Well it can spur the club on, but also hold it back. Look what is happening at Sampdoria, it's not unrealistic to think that some of our crazy fans could make death threats to players if we keep stalling. Or they go to the training ground and assault players, or make offensive chants. I'm not sure that benefits anyone, they already play with enough fear. As much as I'm very annoyed and upset at our situation I don't enjoy seeing this shroud surrounding everything at the club. Unfortunately I also don't have faith that a coach like Delneri deserves our faith or for people to rally around him. At times I thought he was working in difficult circumstances and factored that in, but you can see that he just doesn't have the right mentality to push the club onwards, and the worst thing is that he is totally oblivious to it. I genuinely think he sees the club as a 6th-8th placed team who are taking baby steps. That'll never work here, the fans won't accept fighting for 7th-4th for several seasons.

Yeah great. Lets stick with the plan and not moan and live happily with this mediocre team for the rest of our lives. Good plan!

Hey, shit happens.
or we start another plan, there is no quick fix.
Here, you seem to have missed this bit.

Keep dreaming that Moggi is coming back with Villas Boas as coach and Elkann will invest €100m.

See, now you're grouping everyone who criticizes the club with people who issue death threats. Nobody here is saying that's OK, so your post is nonsense.

And you wonder why people like me think you do nothing but promote the status quo of the club.

Not true at all, don't put words in my mouth. We could have gone for several other coaches. I know why we went with the Marotta-Delneri duo but that matters not now. We either stick with it or we start another plan, there is no quick fix. There isn't anyone coming in to throw €100m at us and we are contesting with others for 3-4 talented and realistic coaches, as well as players who fall into the same category.
Every single time you say "But who'd come" as you probably don't believe there are/were other choices available.

Who mentioned a quick fix? In this mess there's no quick fix at all that would benefit us and we have NO plan. So yes, I'd get somebody who'd actually have a plan.

Not at all. But if you think change is going to be made by fans on internet forums you'd be mistaken, any changes that have been made have been with feet on the ground, for better or worse.

No I ask because I see it's easier to say 'sack the coach' than it is to call achievable replacements.

Not sure if you noticed, but you're actually arguing that fans should let loose on here.

So you don't make any sense, Jay. On one hand you say it's useless to say anything on here, on the other you're afraid of hurting the team's morale by doing so in person.

Whatever. I'm sticking with my original opinion of you.

Not that I care of course. You see things in opposites too much, fans can make their point without scaring the hell out of the players. We did that with marches. We also scared the hell out of players, trashed the stadium, slapped Zebina...and ended up with Marotta and Delneri. If the shareholders at boardroom level are willing to take a chance on those guys then it says a lot.

And yes, what we say on here is useless, but we will say it and keep on saying it because that's how a forum works.

I like to keep my side of the black and white bargain.

On Matri in the game, hopelessly isolated. When you are playing a 4-5-1 and your two wide players have no end product (Pepe) or are invisible (Krasic) then the centre forward isn't going to get a lot of joy. When I see the extra trouble that Toni caused (for both sets of players), it's incredible how he wasn't thrown on together with Matri.

:agree:

Was the exact same the prior week, Matri was far too isolated and bringing on Toni changed the game for us.
