Trying to make some logic into the Diamanti signing is good and all but Diamanti was never even close to Giovinco's performances from last year with Parma. Not even this year with all the shit Giovinco has gotten has he had a better season. Diamanti produced 8 goals and 8 assists and Giovinco produced 11 goals and 6 assists.

Diamanti is also older than Giovinco, Vucinic and Giaccherini. There is really no need for him or to justify the signing.
Giovinco isnt good enough to feature in this juventus, he isnt a reliable option.
Giac is a bench option with good work and all, but not so much endproduct apart from the occasional long shot

Diamanti offers a crapton of grinta and determination, but has some decent endproduct, is cheap.

Older then giovinco ? yes, and ?

The point is not about Giovinco or trying to defend him. I'm just trying to prove how Diamanti isn't an upgrade really.

Having Diamanti in and quag and matri out will give us more options in changing our formation when needed during the season.

Wow man, you must try to grab some of his games, see who he actually is.

Who he is (according to me)
Imagine a player, with the determination and grinta of giaccherini. But better positionning. A left foot that is as good at long shots as vidal. A left foot, that takes freekicks as good as giovinco, but diffrent; diamanti rifles the ball where as gio bends it. in creativety better then marchisio but less then vucinic. versatile and can play any attacking midfield position

Why he is good for us (according to me)
See the problem we currently have, is that we dont have a central attacking midfielder. we got upcomming cm's, and we got SS that can hang back a bit. but none of those are actually central attacking midfielders.
Diamanti is a much better central attacking midfielder, but is also versatile and can play most positions. such a guy is a massive asset to have. you can basically field him anywere. its like we use giac now, only look above how much better diamanti is

I guess it depends on how much he costs, but I think this money would really be better off spent elsewhere. Not suited for the 3-5-2 SS role, he's not the creative force we'd like - and we shouldn't be buying depth until we get a couple clear upgrades into the lineup. Our midfield is already well stocked.

If we are shifting to the 4-3-3, it would be kind of shitty (imo) if this was the level of upgrade we were targeting for that RWF spot. Anyway.

I wouldn't be surprised if we're interested in him, pretty sure I remember Conte talking him up earlier in the season, saying that he deserved a big team.

Actually he's very much suited for that role as a more defensive option

In hard away games, having diamanti behind Higuain, is massive. So much workrate and closing down defenders early. But also so much danger on the counter, as Diamanti is lively and constantly wearing down defenders and he isnt slow eighter, whilst Higuain has his movement and burst acceleration

Grenier's contract expires in 2014 and ol are in desperate need of money yet we sign this 30 yr old turd just cos he's italian and has serie a experience.
Still no signs of contract renewal of the great man.keeping my fingers crossed.
Exactly. Just another foolish signing, but this time it's even worse since he's older than Matri.

I liked his set-pieces against us, so if we are getting Diamanti I would look forward to his freekicks towards Llorente, Pogba, Chiellini and Caceres, which would be crucial against big teams. Other than that there isn't much to look forward to his arrival, he doesn't score enough imo.

@those who are ok with this

Dying in your bed many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance, just one chance, to come back here as young men and tell marotten that he may steal our money but he will never steal our future!

See, this is the sort of negativity I want to see on this forum. Creative, hilarious, to the point and concise...and insane. Cronios should watch and learn from his Anatolian neighbour.

Forza Turk!
