No doubt Coentrao is a fantastic player but I think Kolarov for les then half of what City paid for him is too good a deal to pass up. He also has a great deal of Serie A experience. We would have to pay triple to sign Coentrao. After all, Madrid did pay 30 million Euro for him. I am sure Ancelotti would value him as well.

Tevez, Llorente and Kolarov, it will be great work from Marotta .. I would think we would have enough money for Jovetic too. Heck we might end up making a profit this summer if we can offload some players. I would love for Giovinco to have a big game tomorrow and then a club like Liverpool or Tottenham come in with 15-20 million for him  that would make the summer perfect
Jovetic would be great but we don't really need him anymore. The left flank is the one obvious weakness of our squad why not invest that money on a world class left back? He was quoted as saying he wants to be sold. Depends on Ancelotti I guess but Marcelo is definitely Real's first choice on the left.

I really would like to see Kolarov here. I know he has not been great for city but to be fair at city he is always in and out of the team and never gets to play himself into form and City is not as organized as we are here if Kolarov pushed up he would be covered by Chiellini and Marchisio also comes back to slot in and help. I am not sure who I would start between Asa and Kolarov in the 352 but for sure we will need him for the 433 as DC is not up to par and is probably leaving. So it is really Kolarov in and DC out and that is a huge upgrade.

Also, Kolarov would be invaluable for when we are a goal down and opponents are packing their defense cuz he can whip in some of the best crosses I have seen and we have a striker like 6 foot 5 Llorente waiting and 6 foot 4 Pogba making late runs into the box. So even if Asamoah is the starter Kolarov is dangerous off the bench and his left footed free kicks from the right side of the field give us yet another weapon. People in football have short memories and many have forgotten that at Lazio he was considered to be the star fullback with Licht being the number two. Look at what Conte did for our other players. I am positive he can bring Kolarov back to the levels where he was the most sought after LB in the world at one point with Mourinho trying to bring him to Inter and then later Madrid.

Having Kolarov and Asamoah in the squad would make our Left side extremely strong, somethign it has not been in ages. Also dont forget about the dip in form Asamoah had last season. Just imagine if he did not recover or if he got injured for the whole season. With the CL, Serie A and coppa Italia we need to have 2 Quality players in each position and we are almost there. If we have the Kolarov of the Lazio days in our team we will be very very strong. Top players in every position.

Great Post exactly what I thought

Honestly, we should go all in on for Coentrao. He's is leaving for sure, and he is one of the best LB's out there. Furthermore, he is perfect for both LWB and LB and has all the offensive qualities we are looking for. It might turn out to be an impossible transfer if he is going to be used in an exchange for example for Bale or if Monaco or City go bananas, but we should give it a run for the money.

Kolarov would be excellent as well, but I'm not fully convinced he would bench Asamoah either. However, he would definitely be a welcomed addition.
No doubt about that, I don't think anyone here would pick Kolarov over Coentrao, lol.

However I think signing him very unlikely.

I'd be delighted if we signed Kolarov, though.

    :agree:

I think Coentrao would be too expensive. I'd rather have Jovetic + Kolarov than just Coentrao.

Inter, correct me if I'm wrong but Kolarov can play also as a winger, correct?
Not really, maybe LM sort of like LWB at most.

Juve fight with Galatasaray for Kolarov
    By Football Italia staff

Juventus and Inter will have to fight it out with Galatasaray for the signature of Aleksandar Kolarov.

The Manchester City full-back has been heavily linked with a move away from the Premier League club this summer, admitting that a move to the Bianconeri would be exciting.

However, Sportske have claimed this morning that the Turkish giants are also interested in the Serbian defender, and have already submitted a bid to Manuel Pellegrini's men.

Antonio Conte's side are said to have tabled an initial fee of €1.5m for a season loan, with the option to buy outright for €5.5m. The Serbian news outlet though, insist that the Istanbul-based team are willing to increase on that offer.

Galatasaray isn't rly a competition for us in this battle, they are not rich, not fast and Kolarov prefers Italy for sure.
