The final details are almost in place for the 2012 edition of "Ale&Ricky sempre nel cuore". The youth tournament held in memory of Alessio Ferramosca and Riccardo Neri will be held next weekend, Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 September, at Juventus Center in Vinovo.
This year's tournament is expected to follow on from the success of previous editions. With one significant change: the memorial event, set up following the death of the two Bianconeri youngsters on 15 December 2006, is going international, as a foreign club takes part for the first time. That honour goes to one of the world's greatest clubs: Real Madrid.
The Spanish club will send a selection of youngsters to take on three teams in the Giovanissimi Nazionali (U-15) category: Fiorentina, Torino and of course Juventus' own boys led by Claudio Gabetta. Those are the four sides competing in the professional group. The other group is reserved for amateur outfits: Atletico Mirafiori, Castelfiorentino (the clubs where Alessio and Riccardo started out), Atletico Gabetto and J-Stars.
The action kicks off on Saturday morning with the first round of group games and ends on Sunday evening with the final, when the winners of the two groups will face off in accordance with the tournament's traditional format. The weekend's activities will be wrapped up with the presentation ceremony.
A meeting dedicated to youth football is to be held on the sidelines of the tournament. Attending the event will be Bianconeri directors, teachers involved in the Formazione Juventus project, the Ferramosca and Neri families, and all the lads from the teams competing on the pitch.
