Isn't Aquilani going to be Marchisio's backup? Given that Aquilani will be a starter won't it change our whole system? Are we going to have a deep-lying playmaker playing next to a box-to-boxer (Marchisio)? Having not a single DM playing seems pretty risky. Our defense has been pretty shaky in pre-season and in the Europa League. Can we afford to drop our DMs from the starting line-up?

But our defense doesn't need strictly DM's in front of them to improve, it needs players who will stop giving the damn ball away at the worst of times.

I rate the guy but the most important question is (will he stay injury free)?

I have doubts about that, paying 15 mil for an injury prone player isn't a smart thing to do.....

That's why it's a loan with an option to buy.

I remember you never being an Aquilani fan.Why the change?
I was never a fan, but I don't think I ever disliked him as a player or discussed him here for that matter...perhaps ages ago while he was still young and I didn't know much about him. Or maybe you're confusing me with someone.
