I'm thinking back to previous games with Palermo, when they ran right through our midfield also, Melo - Marchisio definitely suits us better from that perspective but if we are trying to dictate play and they are getting more behind the ball and countering on the flanks then maybe Aquilani would come in and we would have Pepe protecting Grygera more.

They ran through our midfield just like any other team has because we have been horrible in possession. We don't really make it difficult when we are the ones doing all the work trying to get the ball back after we lose it. Teams have been able to play their own game because we basically help them do it with our possession problems. For a change we need to be the smart ones and control the game through the midfield, by passing and possession.

Did it occur to you that they played so well on Sunday considering that Udinese is last and hasn't played well yet? :analcanon:

We could have easily lost on another day, yes, with the same players playing. That is my point. The whole team played well at the weekend and we didn't win 4-0 with only Melo and Marchisio doing all the work, it was a united team effort.

Aquilani is the superior player if everyone is at their normal level but we don't knoe Aquilani's form at the moment. We also don't know whether or not Melo and Marchisio can put in another great performance. So let's start with Melo and Marchisio again to show everyone that playing well is rewarded in this team. Let's see how well they play and bring Aquilani in as a sub and see how well he plays. Then we can decide again for the following match.
