As much as I disliked Khedira because he was no Vidal (not his fault really) and because he became a leechfuck, he was far superior to Fagiot. At least Khedira was tactically intelligent and a threat in the offensive third.
Khedira used to turn up for bigger games, but apart from that he was mostly just as disappointing as Rabiot, the same basic problem of not giving a fuck for 80% of the season. Of course even CL knockouts or big league clashes can't bring the best out of Rabiot, he just randomly chooses the couple of weeks every season where he'll play like he cares.

Khedira, besides the end, was way better for us than Rabiot.

Everyone hated on him because he wasn't Vidal or Marchisio but he did show up and that pairing with Pjanic was very good.

If Rabiot had half of Khedira's football understanding he would be great. Lazy, uninterested, Rabiot is still an ok midfielder. He has all the tools and not enough of the brains.

No, no. He has all the tools and all the money so the lazy momma boy can't be bothered to care or improve.
Watch how he becomes wc rabiot in the second part of the season, if he stays, because he has to hunt for another fat contract.

Does seem that the most probable scenario would be for him to stay and run down his last year of contract so that he can be more picky in regards to his next destination and at the same time get more money for himself in commission and sign-on fee next year when he can walk away as a free agent.

Given his current salary there is likely not that much of a market for him when teams have to consider also needing to invest in a transfer fee.
