There is something he's doing that has been very useful for the team and even resulted is some goals scored in last couple of matches.

He drops down long balls from our defense and plays it to forwards. Kinda like Mandzukic.

If Allegri somehow manages to lift the mental block from his head, he would be very important player for us. Right now he's still making to many mistakes and complicates the most simple passes and runs.

But he's very useful for those long balls.

There is no mental block. As a character he is soft and passive. There is no real desire for the game or hunger for success.

What we see now is what he’ll probably remain. A talent, with great natural attributes without the application or desire to develop or grow into a consistent top performer.

Brilliant pass and sequence, shouldve been a goal. But Chiesas run was clearly the much easier option to choose here, I was perplexed as well watching that live
No he made the right choice and it was a great pass too.
You think passing to Chiesa is better option but Rabiot was blocked by Chelsea RB. it's not as easy as you think to pass to Chiesa because of the RB could have intercept the pass and even if the pass is successful, Chiesa would be surrounded by their RB and RCB.
His long pass made the Chelsea backline more disorganised

No doubt it was a great pass, I guess we disagree on all the other things though :D

The only reason Rabiot plays is because he is tall. It also is a plus that he is left footed. When he was substituted it was Bentancur that moved to his position because he is also tall. When Bentancur was substituted we had 6 defenders so it didn’t matter anymore.

needs to come and pick up the ball sometimes instead of just waiting at the middle.
And this again comes down to being lazy or not caring right now. Unless allegri is very specific with his instructions, which I highly doubt he is executing them to finest detail.

He is tall and left footed and pretty much anything else after that he has been dismal.

He's impossible to pass to. Never anticipates the correct move. And he should give up on trying to set people, just shoot as hard as you can on goal.

His passing and decision making are terrible for a guy of his reputation. He also gets outmuscled far too easily in our own half.

but why? we've seen him time and time again run with the ball bulldozing through opponents. the dude has the physical power of sissoko, gattuso, kante and pogba combined but still gets out muscled despite showing he can be a real bulldozer.

one of the biggest wastes of potential since adriano
