Rabiot did well March onwards last season, gets called up for France, far from il top player starter level for ideal top midfield but showed he might be useful. But was never gonna play well in this game.

Had just returned from injury, not 100% match fit, and it takes bigger players even longer to get back to 100%.

I can buy Locatelli being benched after just arriving and not being fully match fit himself, but this decision was as terribad as certain interwebs fan faction's Rabiot and general every player is now worth 0m kneejerking based on last game. The latter was just more predictable.
And Deschamps confirms if it wasn't obvious enough:

"Rabiot is feeling better, even if it wasn't expected that he would play against Empoli. He played for an hour, he has a great physical ability. When he feels well, he is able to start from the first minute."

For what he did ALONE in that situation. Losing the ball and giving Napoli a chance to counter, and instead of tracking back - he just stops up and complains. That piss poor attitude.

If I was coach I would have subbed him instant. That shit should not be accepted.

And he just did it again. This man is pissing me off.

A liability.

He can step up in phases of a game when he can be bothered but every match there is the same carelessness throughout and it costs us.

His brain just shuts off when he crosses half. He literally is never expecting the ball. Head down when he receives it. Wants no part of the box.
