Ancelotti has Abbiati concern Friday 19 August, 2005

Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti has admitted that his club’s decision to loan Christian Abbiati to Juventus could backfire.
The goalkeeper joined the Turin giants earlier this week after first choice Gigi Buffon was sidelined for three months with injury.
Milan have now effectively solved their rivals’ goalkeeping dilemma, aiding their competitiveness in Serie A and the Champions League.
"The transfer of Abbiati was the right one for the player," the former Stadio Delle Alpi tactician told the Corriere dello Sport.
"He’s not played regularly for some time and we couldn’t stop him from missing out on this opportunity.
"However, it is true that it could penalise us in our competition with Juventus during this season."
There was talk that the switch took place as part of a compensation agreement, seeing as Buffon was injured by a Kaka challenge in the 2-1 loss to Milan last Sunday.
"It wasn’t compensation," maintained Ancelotti. "The challenge was made by Kaka, a player who usually is on the end of kicks…"
Meanwhile, the Coach has rubbished claims that his club are on the verge of signing Brazilian full-back Cicinho.
"We won’t be getting him," he added. "We will firstly look for Italian players in his position."
The Sao Paulo star is a well respected right-back, widely seen as the heir to Milan’s Marcos Cafu in the national side
