That could’ve been a good plan but for example us refusing to release him for international duty doesn’t mean that he will still not go to the WC without our permission, the most that we will likely be able to do is to fine him a portion of his wages for going against the club’s will but then again looking at how much he is earning here i dont think he will worry about it even for a second.
I think the golden handshake(as in us paying him in advance a portion of his salary to leave) is the only way out of this one.
