Journalists face possible blasphemy charges

Saudi journalist, Nadine Al Bdair, and Editor-in-Chief, Magdy Al Galad, will be summoned for questioning in Egypt on Tuesday, Gulf News has learned, after General Public Prosecutor, Abdul Majeed Mahmoud, ordered the prosecutor of south Cairo to investigate blasphemy charges against the two.

Nadine has been heavily criticised for her recent article in the Egyptian daily Al Masry Al Youm calling for a new edict to allow a woman to marry four men.

In her view, if men and women are equals, they should be given the same privileges.

Many Muslims expressed outrage over the article.

Prosecution lawyer Khalid Fouad Hafez told Gulf News that he had been waiting for two weeks for the Public Prosecutor to hear the case. Since the case was filed, Nadine has been out of the public eye, but a source from Al Hurra TV, her former employer, says she might be in Beirut.

I want to know what the Arab and Muslim members think of this? Are you on her side regarding this right she claims or will you side on Religion.

Interesting answer. If a woman is willing to share 3 husbands, then so should a man right ?

If you're talking in general then yes. But if so you're talking about the Islam principle about marrying several womans then the answer is No.

I'm Muslim, but I don't agree with the the principle that the man can marry more than one woman, and consequently, the woman can marry more than one man.

Somebody accused me of damaging their property and taking a piss on their house last night. I was at a party full of strangers and people were saying I did it, which I did not. I became really aggravated but for some strange reason I just walked away instead of taking things further which I think is highly commendable seeing as I had haconsumed 10 pints.

I ended my night on top of a hill with a cigar in my mouth, snow falling by the buckload listening and shouting 'Juve Storia' .

I think it went rather well.

So you are saying Islam is wrong here?
Islam made the principle of having many wives in specific cases where many men are killed in wars, and the number of women is too high relatively to the number of living men. That is not the case now, so it does not apply. That is my take on that, at least.
