I think Rab is well qualified. I mean, Jack is also a mod and a very good one. And I find him very similar person to Rab. If Rab can keep it up like he has been doing recently and put his bias aside, he´ll do a good job. He has been here for a long time and knows everything about the Forum. And nobody was a great mod when he just started. Besides, it´s not that he will be the only one in charge. he has a lot of guys to help him like Swag, Fliakis, Mikhail, Gray, Atropos, Isha00 and Mark77. They´ll be working as a team and they have a lot to do nowadays. 
I am sure they have their reasons for appointing a new mod and they carefully thought about the decision. So, who are we to talk about anything? Let´s first see how the things will go.

If I'd be given power over Vinman, I'd abuse it. The guy's an ass. Or perhaps I wouldn't abuse it, but I would have a hard time not abusing it and I don't like having a hard time. Either way, I'm not the right man for the job.

I've been in your position and let me give you some advice my friend.
In situations like these, it is best to stop replying to, in this case seven's posts and just go on after giving the warning, and if he keeps acting like a j*rk (or whatever name you want to give it), give him one final warning before a short term ban.
I learned that being a mod isn't easy but if you then let yourself get carried away into discussions like these, it will only get harder and the people you have the discussion with, will like it more and more.
But if you act the way I told you, the fun will be out of it for them and it will stop, well, at least for me it worked.
