There are some self-flagellation practised by the Shi'a muslims & I find it rather odd. I've seen on TV where masses are bleeding in the name of celebrations - Beats me. No offence to any Shi'a's but what is the point & how do you justify it islamically. Islam says that anything that causes harm to oneself is strictly forbidden.
