I think it depends on what other transfers happen. He can't be the dybala replacement solution. We need someone long term for that. But if we can sign a long term replacement for dybala, add the quality midfielders and left back that we need and have room in our salary structure to add di Maria then I'd say yes, simply because he can play in so many positions which is critical for us.

Whatever the club has in mind, whether it be a direct replacement or a winger to support a 433...we need a long term solution, not di Maria for 1 season, 2 seasons Max.

Not a full 90 minutes player anymore but his top level is very high still.

Would prefer a young left winger instead of Di Maria, but we can't denied he will be a high level stop gap solution for our wingers as he can play in both wing with ease. While current priority will be midfield and defense, if we get Di Maria, it means next season/in winter transfer we need to find his replacement and Cuads too

When the competition is Bernardeschi or an injured Chiesa and we have other areas of the starting 11 to fix I have no problem with Di Maria coming as a starter for a season for free.

We don't have the money to sign long term fixes for every issue of the squad. I think it makes sense to get an experienced player, who seems to still be at a decent level while we spend on other areas like centre mid.

Di Maria is a freebie and necessary, with Chiesa out for half a year. Scratch Di Maria and put another name, it will be a bigger investment, and then you have 2, 3 or 4 starting caliber wingers when Chiesa is back, with the midfield still lacking.

I fear we plan to keep some of the bums in the midfield. Zakaria and Locatelli will stay, good chances McKennie will too. Then you have Rabiot who we all love, and Arthur. Allegri might be fine with Rabiot and demand just one big name there, while Arthur is loaned. Then fill the 6th spot with Fagioli or Rovella. That could leave us enough money for a LB and a starter LW, but it would mean we get to see another year of Rabiot

Di Maria is quality, but he is insanely injury prone nowadays, is a player with a tasking physical playstyle that suffers alot with age. And I doubt he has any further motivation currently.



So yeah there are plenty of reasons to be wary of or look elsewhere rather then do this deal.

but why di maria? we have an insane talent in kulu to use. but no allegri, and managment ruined another talent
