que bolas toda la paja que hablan de buffon despues de su actuacion ayer
Opinion: The best and the rest
Football Italia highlights which individuals are on a high and a low after the Week 31 games.
The best…
Francesco Totti (Roma)
Only Arsenal’s Thierry Henry is on the same level as Francesco Totti right now. The Roman seems to really be enjoying his game, he looks fresh and full of inventiveness. His two goals against Empoli on Sunday saw him reach 20 in Serie A this term – not bad for a player who isn’t a striker.
Cedric Konan (Lecce)
This youngster will never forget his performance against Juventus yesterday. Konan scored twice at the Delle Alpi in the shock 4-3 win. He was gifted his first by Gigi Buffon but his slalom second was simply sublime.
Angelo Peruzzi (Lazio)
Peruzzi may be 35 but he’s still one of the best goalkeepers in Serie A. His performance in the 0-0 draw at Inter confirmed that he is in a great moment of form right now. He fully deserves his recall to the Italian national squad.
The rest…
Gigi Buffon (Juventus)
The 4-3 loss to Lecce was possibly Buffon’s worst performance as a professional. He was that bad on Sunday that few onlookers would have thought he cost the club a massive £33m. He should have stopped at least two of the four he conceded.
Nicola Legrottaglie (Juventus)
There are no more excuses for Nicola Legrottaglie after another shocking display. He and defensive colleague Mark Iuliano were dreadful against Lecce in the defeat. The Italian international just doesn’t seem good enough at this level. Does a summer exit loom?
Kily Gonzalez (Inter)
The Argentine was disappointing again in the 0-0 draw with Lazio. The winger just couldn’t get into the game or produce a decent cross for Christian Vieri who was poorly served all afternoon.
