[Champions League] Juventus vs Zenit ( 17th September , 2008)

They can't seem to get it right.. The Australian commentator and talk show host BOTH referred to Juve's stadium as Delle Alpi for the game vs Zenit. I wrote them an email about it, don't know how effective that'll be but these people really should start getting their facts straight.

Great post Vlatko. And I agree about Chiellini.. I feel safe whenever he's near the ball.

Poulsen made far too many mistakes in this game I agree, but I also think he looked tired. The good news is that we survived Zenit. We were outclassed, and there's always something to learn from this game. Im not trying to give excuses for Juve's performance, but I also think we should...

my commentator tried pronouncing legrottaglie, it became legroti, then he just stopped at legro.

I was pretty surprised Ranieri made that substitution actually, didn't think Ranieri would actually do it. Considering Zenit has played around 20 (?) games this season, and Juve 2, I think we could only get better once we gain our momentum. Oh, I thought Nedved had a good game too. :toast:

Really? It looked like come on. But I had only one look at it anyway, and it sort of means the same thing right? I thought Poulsen made a lot of mistakes today though..

Did anyone notice Ranieri's reaction after Alex's goal? "YEAH! COME ON!" I would have to vote Alex for MoM, because of his brilliant goal that made the difference, but SISSOKO was just effing, effing brilliant.

I think we should give Ranieri the benefit of the doubt here when it comes to Gio. I mean here's a man whos known for taking chances with younger players, and he already gave starting games to Marchisio and De Ceglie (regardless of why).

:toast: C4 described it best - "emotional return" indeed. I've been thinking about this game for the past week like a mad woman and now I think I might possibly go insane Can't wait!

the anticipation is killing me. wish it was wednesday already.. can't wait. the biggest mistake we could do is to underestimate zenit though, which im pretty sure we won't.

But you can't deny that he has made mistakes in our previous two outings, and maybe CR is just not willing to risk that in a CL game, and I don't see why he should either when Legro - Giorgio is a 'safer' bet. Just for this game though, I'm sure Olof will settle in better with time

I know, but I think it's somehow more meaningful for players like Nedved and Trez etc who could've left.. Not that nobody wanted Giorgio but these 5 were the 'superstars'
