I don't disagree over this one and I assume that in your example as a starting company it is financing the initial purchase by issuing shares, otherwise yearly expenses would be higher and leverage financing is obligatory, which in the end would mean significant outflows of cash every year. :)...

There are other things to consider here then, how will we decide to finance this, on how many installments we have agreed upon with Real; if Real decides to buy him back will they pay the full amount immediately. These things make a difference and I'd say getting 30m in a single installment is...

Regarding the profit issue this is how it stands: If we buy Morata for 20m, that will be his value in our books, current one that is. If in two years time Real decide to exercise the option, assuming that we will offer him 5 year deal, his value will be 12m.
