:boh: This is the first one I've played in a few years and I'm thoroughly enjoying it.

You guys are clearly doing it wrong.

    Football Manager 2014

Playing without a CF is working beautifully for me just now. Just have an attacking midfielder playing as a SS. Also have a right winger playing quite high up. This has the combined effect of dragging the central defenders higher up, while keeping the left back deep. Leaves the...

    Football Manager 2014

Update seems interesting. In the couple of games I've played the main danger has shifted away from wingers dribbling and putting in crosses/set-pieces to playing balls in behind the defence for pacy players to run on to. They seemed to have fixed the near-post corner bug, which was my main...

    Football Manager 2014

On the cusp on getting out of my CL Group (with Man Utd, Ajax and Shakhtar in it) with Aberdeen in my second season and with only minor tinkering to the starting XI. Thoroughly enjoying my defensive, rigid 4-1-4-1. My main issue with this game is that the standard position at the front of the...

    Football Manager 2014

Started playing about with different setting for them. Thing is, I don't want them to play like wing backs when I'm in possession. Just need them to be a bit bolder when defending.

    Football Manager 2014

I'm finding that some man-marking, almost catenaccio-esque tactics, can work quite well... Finding it awkward when playing normally with a back four to deny space to an orthodox wide player when the opposition is playing 4-4-2 (or similar). Full backs don't seem to recognise a wide midfielder...

    Football Manager 2014

I'm going along rather nicely with a 4-3-3/4-5-1. Defensive fullbacks, one of the midfield three as an advanced playmaker getting forward, one winger and one inside forward as the wide players. High-ish defensive line, high tempo, playing narrow.

    Football Manager 2014

Always think part of the challenge/fun of the game is to play the first season with pretty much whatever you're given, before building your own team in subsequent years. I'll have a go a winning playing 3-5-2 with Juve at some point, but there's absolutely no way I'll be playing that system...

    Football Manager 2014

First FM I've played in a few years. Just messing around having a look at stuff just now. Won't get into a proper game until the full version is out and I can attack it with the editor. Signed Nainggolan for Juve on co-ownership for 4m as my first move. Not too shabby.
