    [Serie A] JUVENTUS 4-0 Udinese (January 19, 2013)

Of course, and my issue is that Juve are getting themselves into these situations when they are ahead and don't need to go chasing another goal. I'm not criticising a team for taking reasonable gambles when they need to force things to try and get a goal.

It's a wonder every coach doesn't play like Zeman, then, if defenders should be able to handle being outnumbered.

    [Serie A] JUVENTUS 4-0 Udinese (January 19, 2013)

So what do you do if, as happened to Juve against Udinese, all your defenders are marking a player, then you have an Udinese player running forwards with the ball unchallenged? Does one of the defenders leave the man they are marking to go and confront him? Do they all continue to mark and...

You don't think being out-numbered matters when defending a counter-attack?

Individual errors are going to happen, but these are tactical issues that come up again and again because Juve take more risks than they need to when ahead. The opposition is going to attack, but that doesn't mean you have to let them out-number you like happened today. I don't doubt the Juve...

    [Serie A] JUVENTUS 4-0 Udinese (January 19, 2013)

There are, of course, times to press on and try to finish the game, but you don't go gung-ho and leave yourself open to conceding on the break once you are ahead. In general, it's better to pull things back a little, be more cautious and wait for the opportunities to come, rather than trying to...

Do you think Zeman is a good coach?

It is possible to take a balanced approach to these things. Just keep an extra player (a midfielder of a wingback) behind the ball compared to what you would do when at 0-0. There's no need to go chasing things and taking risks once your ahead.

Plenty of good things, with a mix of the usual failings. Juve played at a good tempo in the first half and kept the pitch nice and big with the wingbacks playing really high up and Giaccherini moving very well. That allowed Juve to get into any number of dangerous situations, but the decision...

    [Serie A] JUVENTUS 4-0 Udinese (January 19, 2013)

Keep in mind that Juve play Lazio in midweek. Conte probably doesn't want to start Lichtsteiner and Isla together in this one because he'll be looking to alternate between them for RWB in the next few games. If there wasn't a game in midweek, I'd have looked for Isla to start in midfield...

    [Serie A] JUVENTUS 4-0 Udinese (January 19, 2013)

Agreed. Would say he has enough going forward to be a fullback, but probably not enough to be an effective wingback. If Di Natale isn't starting, Juve's defence needs to play very differently. If Di Natale's there, the main threat is the ball over the top, so you'd look for Juve to play a...

    [Serie A] JUVENTUS 4-0 Udinese (January 19, 2013)

Wonder if Juve will be appropriately concentrated and cautious when in possession in this game. Aside from having given away three goals in the last two league games to counter-attacks/stupid give-aways, Udinese are one of the best teams on the break and precautions should be taken to limit...
