    The Financial Situation

Faced with mounting concerns and daily updates about the crisis wrought by the coronavirus pandemic on the global soccer industry, FIFA is drawing up plans for an emergency relief fund worth hundreds of millions of dollars, according to people with knowledge of the matter...

That can't be true. Barca have never had a shirt sponsor and never will because they are above that sort of thing. They definitely wouldn't put a charity on their shirt (and claim huge credit for it) just as a way to transition to having a sponsor just like everyone else does. No, Barca are...

    The Financial Situation

Proposed alterations to FFP suspended by Belgian court. But UEFA to appeal so the suspension will be lifted pending the appeal. So nothing is really happening just now.

20m+ (and a pretty big wage, I assume) for a player who isn't compatible with Llorente? Sounds great.

    The Financial Situation

The income was rather a lot more than 58m on average through the period Moratti was in charge and pouring cash into Inter. Saras performing relatively poorly was a major factor in Moratti selling to Thohir, I believe.

Was Moratti at Inter not 'big oil'? Was he just medium oil?

    The Financial Situation

For the sake of a couple of million a year, Juve may stick with FIAT. I can't imagine that FIAT would be Juve sponsor if there was another company out there prepared to offer a lot more.

    The Financial Situation

Why should Juve get more than that? That's not to say Juve aren't a club of a stature to at least match someone like Liverpool, but it is impossible for the Juventus brand to be as marketable as the Liverpool brand right now because of the relative marketability of the leagues the clubs play in...

What has to be remembered in all these calculations is that it is pretty unlikely Juve won't have sold at least one of Pogba and Vidal for a lot of money within the next couple of years.

Here's a fine example of how not to run a football club: http://www.scribd.com/doc/217413725/The-Rangers-Football-Ltd-Accounts-2013 These are the accounts of New Rangers (not Old Rangers who were terribly mismanaged and went bust). Clearly lessons have been learnt by New Rangers. They are...

De Ceglie is precisely the last person that Juve should keep because he is on a significantly bigger salary than guys like Peluso and Padoin.

Don't know about 'comfortable favourites' for second. Both Napoli and Roma are a couple of players away from being very strong sides. I think there is quite a gulf between them and the others.

Think it's awaiting an appeal. And I believe Juve said they had alread set aside money to cover any potential liability so having to pay up wouldn't impact on future budgets.

I don't think much of the white V at the collar. Key thing from my point of view is that the kit is almost entirely red and it's about the right shade of red. Should say that we, of course, don't sell enough kits per year to merit having adidas coming up with a kit just for us in the way...

Adidas is great. As part of the deal with them, I demand that all Juve players be compelled to wear Mundials.

    The Financial Situation

I guess Juve wanted to have the negotiations when they were in a strong position (Italian champions and decent effort in first attempt at CL). Who knows if Juve would look quite as attractive if the negotiations had taken place a year later.
