It is several things really. For one thing, ultras are banned by the club so that is one main source of atmosphere gone. Another is the amount of tourists who don't know any of the chants. And third is the acoustics at the stadium which aren't conducive to holding in noise, so on TV it sounds...

Yup. Most clubs have at least one or two serial divers, so there's some degree of hypocrisy. But at some clubs and leagues it seems like more of an epidemic than elsewhere though, hence I understand why people don't like Barca, or Spanish football in general. I remember watching Barca games...

The perceived greediness is annoying, but going there doesn't necessarily mean he'll fail.
