It doesn't help that Felicity Jones is one of the more soporific actresses out there. Can't stand her in the roles that suit her, and it looks even worse in this sort of role. It's too bad, because the later characters in that trailer, some of them look like they could be quite interesting.

:agree: I feel really nostalgic for childhood watching it, and it's fun, a good movie and all, but it's not something extraordinary, it's not a revelation. It's a good, entertaining, but flawed film. 7/10 seems perfect for it.

There's also the reveal of Luke and Leia taking their incestuous relationship to the next level. Nothing beats watching two 60 year olds fucking on the big screen. @adRHCP

Misplaced. Yes. Considering the quality of the first 6 films in the franchise, I see absolutely no reason for this film to be so insanely hyped. But that's the world we live in. Popularity has next to nothing to do with quality.

Trying to create an epic space opera type film, action filled, with massive battles, and acrobatics, and the like in that era was never going to work in terms of aging well with advancements in technology. Other movies like Alien, were much slower paced, less of the epic variety, and not so...
