I wasn't expecting much from Evra tbh, and was proven wrong. I never had the impression he was that dependant on physicality either, very technical player imo, but let's just see I guess.

Exact same age as Evra was when we signed him, he's done fine as well. I absolutely expect us to replace him in 2 years, but until then we've got a very good player for very little investment.

:agree: Good short term fix btw, finding a good & affordable long term replacement should still absolutely be one of the top priorities of our scouting department though.

Alves can do Cuadrado's job as an offensive wingback perfectly. I'd be more content with a young strong RB á la what we have with AS on the left, but given that such players are very difficult to find and afford Alves would be a great signing.

What? He was benched for Cuadrado plenty of times last season, and while he's still solid his decline is real.

Yup, don't like him, but from a footballing perspective it would be a truly great move.
