You're right, because He's not there to be a regista, he's there to hold the ball, win possession, assist the defense, be an outlet for a pass back, then distribute to the people who are creative and playing in more attacking roles. His mistakes were being careless and losing possession, not him...

He is great at his job, which was defensive mid, not creative regista. He had some good shots on goal, and had good tackles and decent passes. His talent is not creativity, it is aggressive defending, winning possession and simple distribution. He did those jobs well. He could become a Vidal...

I agree, I thought Pereyra was going to be so much more than he was last year. Same with Sturaro. They were such big disappointments after the previous season as super-subs. Lemina looks like he can eventually earn a starting position, and is already a capable sub.
